About Tukpin
Born in Lokossa (The Republic of BENIN / West Africa, a place influenced by slavery, the 90s HIP HOP and the Famous Pac and Biggy's Rap Revolution's Story) of a Beninese Father and a Ghanaian Mother on May 18th 1987, Eric Houédoté Codjo ANAGONOU, known by his stage name as 2kpin (Tukpin ) is a french Feepop and Hip Hop Artist. His Grand-Father was one of the infantrymen (African war veterans) who fought for France during the 2nd World War. On May 18th 1940, he was hurt by rifle bullets while he was at his military post in Sedan. General Huntziger, Commander-in-Chief of ground forces, secretary of state and of War conferred the Soldier ANAGONOU the French Legion of Honor Medal. These distinctions to the soldier gave him the status of The 1939-1945 Very Brave War mutilated. By God's grace the warrior of Dahomey (current Benin) survived and came back home where the Rapper's father was born, served in the national treasury of Benin and was admitted to Retirement in 2010. In 1997, while he was only ten (10) years old, 2kpin rose for the first time on stage to interpret a song extracted from french rapper Mc Solaar's album called "paradisiac" at the community Arts center of Ouidah and participated in the broadcast dedicated to the talented children of Mr. Roger TCHAOU on the National radio (ORTB). For studies, In 2002 he left for Lomé (The Republic of Togo), where he met SHAKA and LIL SAINT with whom he formed his first Rap group (Colour Brothers). Together they released their first single "Gnoro" meaning "Tribute to the parents" produced by OMAR-B. the song was temporarily successful but for school reasons the members of the group will no longer stay together. Lil saint left for France and 2kpin returned to Benin and started his Solo career. His struggles and true life stories inspired a movie which will highlight Development projects, the low knocks, the Artiste difficulties in the HIP HOP environment especially in Africa and other sad african realities. 2kpin used to mingle with musicians like Ali Jezz of Togo, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and the group VIP of Ghana. Now and forever, committed Artist, the Rapper has a lot to say and dedicates his music to Educate and fight Poverty in Africa. July 20th 2019, Tukpin launched his first Solo Album entitled "De African Dream" or (expired link) ( (expired link) ). "Emome Child" which is one of the 18 tracks on the Album is played in The American Serial Movie produced by Memphis Artistes called "Deeper than Rap". "Emome Child" is a song that speaks and stands for Street and Destitute Children all over the World.
