About 4Strings4Two

4 Strings 4 Two is an Electro Lounge Jazz duo composed of 2 Breton artists, Patrick Tilleman on violin and Pascal Gaillard on bass.
They met for the first time during the production of an album of illustrative music. The connection was quickly established to such an extent that they decided to extend their collaboration by bringing their compositions on stage.
The French violinist Patrick TILLEMAN has achieved an incomparable career to this day.
Mixing acoustic and electric playing, classical notes, jazz, rock, bossa or electro, he did not hesitate to take his violin for a banjo or think of strings as trumpets.
From the 70s to 2000, he played in nearly twenty groups as well as with many talents such as Bernard LUBAT, Jean-François JENNY-CLARKE, Aldo ROMANO, Michel PORTAL, Didier LOCKWOOD, Raphaël FAYS, GWENDAL, Daniel HUMAIR and Jean-Michel CARADEC. This led him to perform in a large number of Parisian, French and European venues and events.
Drawing on his experience and his entrepreneurial spirit, here he is in collaboration with Pascal Gaillard for a new show entitled “4 Strings 4 To”.
Pasca Gaillard learned music with the Stones, the Beatles, Cactus and many others. Then Yes, Genesis...
He attended the CIM then began his professional career with a well-known beach operator and finally more seriously with the recording in England of his first album with Pierre-Jean Gaucher and his group Abus Dangereux.
He toured with Sid Smith Quartet, Aller Simple by Etienne Brunet, Gina Sbu and Jean-Pierre Bedoyan. Then French song, François Guierre, Sarah Mandiano... A meeting that marked with the American singer Lina Koutrakos who took him to the United States to record his album and participate in his concerts in New York. He settled in Paris as a composer, sound engineer and director. It was there that his musical experience broadened to include world music. Aicha Kone and Waby Spider for Africa, Gaby Odeimi and others less known in Europe for the Arab world.
It was in the world of musical illustration that he met Patrick Tilleman and imagined 4S4T with him.
Created first for musical illustration, the original compositions which form this show are the result of a challenge that Patrick and Pascal set themselves. It was about being able to create songs purely from the sounds they could generate with their instruments. Challenge won on around ten titles but when the idea came to them to go on stage with these compositions, they gave free rein to their imagination and added a sequencer which allows them to open up large areas of improvisation.
