Fixxxman Biography

Rob Hendrikse, aka Fixxxman, started playing the guitar after the death of his friend en musical influence Peter de Vries in 2007.

Between 2009 and 2012 Rob played in the classic rock formation Defense and is currently playing in his own formations Lucky Faces (acoustic rock duo) and Rough ‘n Ready (classic rock).
In 2015 Rob started The Low Down Mojo’s, a blues band with Ron ‘El Kroppo’ Krop as frontman and inspirator. In which Rob is playing rhythm guitar and is doing vocals.
In March 2017 the new duo 18 Strings was born. A collaboration with the well known Ziggy Tap guitarist Ron Baggerman which will bring funked up rock, blues, pop and their own material.

With these formations Rob managed to do close to 500 shows in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
He also was support act for Dilana (USA) in 2014 and 2016, Leif de Leeuw Band, Rob Orlemans & Half Past Midnight, My Brainbox (feat. Jan Akkerman), King of the World, Letz Zep (UK) and he also played with Gordon Smith (UK) and Steve Payne & Paul Hobday (UK/Wales).

Besides playing music, Rob writes his own songs and lyrics, what resulted in the publishing of his first paperback novel full with lyrics ‘The Long Road – A Collection of Words’ in 2014 and his second one ‘The Road Goes On’. Both novels are almost sold out.

In 2016 the first solo album was released, ‘The Road So Far’. A musical journey which represents the musical path Rob took between 2011 and 2016. Highlight on the album is the new version of his 2010 song ‘The Long Road’ which was recorded with Rob Orlemans on lead guitar, just like the original version.
Rob also recorded his song ‘Hand on the Throttle’ with Rob Orlemans on lead guitar.

In December 2016, Rob released his 2nd album, the live cd ‘Live on the Road’, after requests of his fans to do so.

Both albums received great reviews in Dutch Blues Magazine.

Since April 2016 Rob is playing solo as well and played on various festivals like Nispen Blues (Nispen), Heyhoef Backstage (Tilburg), Midsummer Backstage Festival (Tilburg) and Big Rivers Festival in Dordrecht and various music venues in The Netherlands and Belgium.

For 2017 tours in England and Ireland are scheduled for May and October.
