Hello fans Just to let you know that we have posted a new song to the playlist at N1M. ( I did promise to post more songs). Here is a early rap song that we recorded in 1999 for the Malimba album. It is part of a musical with the same name that documents the history of African American music from Africa to the present. Combined with a then new sound ( I know Rap sounds a little different today 17 years later) this song depicts a mind set that has been sung about by Bob Marley, where the key to being set free as a human being is the elimination of your own mental slavery and the transformation of the way you think about yourself: Are you a victor or a victim? Only if you embrace your history and transform a negative past into a present of positive self awareness can you build a successful future. NO SLAVE NO MORE is a powerful hymn to that transformational process. So be inspired by the lyrics as well as the coming together of different stylistic elements in this rap song. Enjoy!
