Before leaving my home country of Canada for Los Angeles in my 20’s, I had already earned a Juno (Canadian “Grammy”) nomination for my hit dance song, “Don’t Ever Leave, All of My Dreams”. (at the time I was performing/known as: "Laya")

Upon arriving in Los Angeles, I formed the turbo pop band “Powder” and went on to win the Los Angeles Music Awards Front Person of the Year & Best Stage Show Award in addition to sold out shows across the country and selected European cities featuring then radio hit "Up Here".

By this time, I really wanted to up the ‘show factor’ for the band and develop a new skill. So, I decided to hire a pro aerialist instructor, Michelle Dejunair from Cirque du Soleil. Not only did this take the stage show to new heights.... no pun intended!! LOL! , aerial arts became a full on business and I was blessed to travel all over the US and some of Europe performing for and with such celebs as Magic Johnson, Rihanna, Eddie Van Halen, and was contracted by many corporations such as Space X, Lexus, Maxim Magazine, Tele Mundo and Universal Studios to perform for on going attractions and special events.

Trained in Jazz music, composition, arranging and latin percussion at the prestigious Humber College in Toronto, I am a seasoned vocalist, songwriter, and performer with appearances throughout the United States and Europe. Having the opportunities to share the stage with acts such as, Alana Myles, Metellica, Cake, The Commitments, Ted Nugent and Flock of Seagulls, opened up many doors to new and exciting ventures.

My vast experience has allowed me to consult for TV and Feature Film including teaching actors how to look and act the part when playing the role of a musician or rock star.
As life moved on, I knew it was time for a change and another challenge so I packed up and sold all the aerial gear I had, donated all my costumes and wigs, and began a body building career! I trained my butt off with a private coach and went on to win 10 first place awards. I decided to turn this new venture into a full time training business and opened up my own training facility. I hosted private and group classes and was asked to write for Iron Man Magazine in their nutritional section for 2 and 1/2 years! but, like they say, once an entertainer ALWAYS an entertainer......so, back to show business I went!

I have several featured stage appearances, such as the AMA awards with Christina Aguilera, pop band Magic and Wyclef Jean.

Some of my commercial recognition include original composition and vocals for a nationwide Sprint campaign ad, which I also starred in. My original compositions have also been featured in television series such as "The L Word", Play Boy's Night Calls, and others.
My original composition, "Adore Me" was selected and used as the primary theme song for a full WNBA season and my voice has been aired on radio station ID ads from Chicago, the (expired link)., Germany and Italy.

My solo 'swank' jazz record entitled LounGe LiZard, featuring jazz remakes of the hits from the 70's, 80's & 90's will be available on iTunes MAY 20th!
I am really excited to release this solo record. Jazz has kinda been swept under carpet and I feel this album excites a broader group of people that can now get into the jazz vibe.
These songs are hits from 70's, 80's, 90's and well known to a generation that may not be familiar with this style. These tracks done ‘swank’ jazz style, will introduce listeners to a fun and refreshing way to groove on down to the hits and reanimate the Jazz feel, bringing it back into mainstream music!
