Crix Green grew up in New Orleans, La. as one of 10 siblings. “We weren’t poor, but we weren’t rich either; my 3 sisters slept in one room, and my 6 brothers and I slept in another. From a young age I became about my business-I knew I wanted to live comfortably, and give my kids a better life, so I did what I had to do to put some bread in my pocket and food on the table”.
Crix began his journey in the music industry as a songwriter for New Orleans based INMATE Records, working closely with his brother BIG REN on his debut “THE REN ALBUM”. In 2005, after Katrina hit the Crescent City, Crix had an epiphany of sorts, saying “After Katrina, I realized it was time to get busy. I learned that when things are good, people put on a good front and act like everything is cool, but when trouble comes, you see who people really are, and they show their true colors. Everything got real serious for me in all aspects of my life after Katrina hit”.
In late 2005, he formed CLEARVISION ENTERTAINMENT, and began producing an album for his talented protégé DESERT, who sadly passed away in prison from a seizure before Crix could complete his album. “I know how to survive when tragedy strikes, so I didn’t let DESERT’S passing deter my grind; I knew I had to step up and carry the torch for the Clearvision movement, so I became the featured artist in addition to being the CEO of the company”.
He completed his first album in late 2008, and dropped another album to rave reviews after linking up with the well known DJ SCREAM which featured the popular “Ben Franklin” and “I’m On It” featuring PAPA REU. In 2013 Crix dropped the single “Feel Good”, and later remixed it to feature JUVENILE. His new single, “So Cool” is burning up the airwaves while its video has thousands of youtube views, and will be the lead single off his album “A Gangsta & A Gentlemen” which will drop this summer.
When asked how it is to wear two hats as CEO and lead artist, Crix says “Everything we do here at Clearvison is real; I’ve always worn more than one hat in my personal life as a businessman, father, son, brother, MC, songwriter, etc. The streets taught me to trust only those who are worthy of being trusted, which is why I handpick the artists in the Clearvision family-they ride or die with me, and I ride or die with them. Wearing two or more hats is easy when everything you do works toward the good of the company-its all about having a “clear vision” of where you want to go and how you want to get there-that is why I named our company CLEARVISION ENTERTAINMENT”.
One of the unique things about Clearvision is its diversity and its reality based content. “We are going to have artists representing every genre of music such as Reggaeton, R&B and Pop, and you can rest assured everything that is sung or rapped about will be 100% real”.
