We are thrilled to announce that this Friday a new single (two songs) will appear on Spotify, and elsewhere. These are the first new songs we've recorded in 18 years. Able was formed in Uppsala, Sweden, and released two albums in the 1990’s in the US, Asia and Sweden: “Prestigeless Lovesounds” and “Lost Love Songs”. In 2018, they were back with the album “Third” (recorded in 2001).
Able has changed through the years, but the soul of the band has always been Johan Gille’s songwriting, based on classic pop songwriting, fascinated by the Brill Building, Brian Wilson, and many more. The result? As if the Jayhawks, James Taylor, the Beach Boys, Sandy Denny, Prefab Sprout, Wilco and Dusty Springfield had been mixed together for a long time, and the outcome is something completely different, yet instantly recognizable. In 2019, Able release the first new songs in over a decade. After the two first singles gained a lot of streams and plays on radio, the brand new album "Holding On/Letting Go" was released on all streaming platforms in the Fall of 2019.
The band members as of 2019 are Johan Gille (vocals, guitar and whatever stringed instrument he can find), Jonas Olsson (guitar, vocals, harmonica), Malkolm Bonander (drums, vocals, piano) and Mattias Jonsson (bass).
The music released so far is online on Spotify, iTunes, Deezer, etc.
