About Aja Vallè

Aja Valle, versatile singer, songwriter and a Florida native, is a rare find in the music industry. The Jacksonville-based vocalist has shared the stage with industry legends and is focused on staying in the forefront of the musical landscape for the long haul.

Aja Mickie (who now goes by the name of Aja Valle`) was born Aja Vallett Norris on February 13th 1987. Being born to a musician, James Norris (a former member of “The Drifters”, who had a solo career by the stage name of (expired link). Jackson), it was only natural that she would have a passion for music. Being born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Aja grew up singing at the age of six, participating in school talent shows, as well as singing in the church choir. It wasn’t until the age of 12 where she truly discovered her passion for writing songs. When Aja turned 18 and graduated from Ridgeview High School, she enlisted into the military to begin a new life. At the age of 20, she had a son and left the military to get married, but unfortunately things didn’t work out for the couple, and she was divorced by the age of 22. This devastation brought her back to what she knew best, writing about her emotions. It inspired her to write about everything in her life, not just music, but songs that other people could relate to. Aja Valle writes music that can put you in any type of mood. Whether it’s happy, sad, loving, dancing, or inspiring, her songs tell stories. She continues to perform where she currently resides, (Jacksonville, FL) in local clubs, and special events such as “May Day” and “Black Expo”. Her music has a new sound with an “old school” feel to it, and it is designed for all ages. Without any explicit content, Aja’s music continues to inspire younger generations giving them confidence to believe in themselves, and enough courage to be a leader and not a follower.
