"I NEED YOU NOW", my first single topped the WORLD INDIE MUSIC AIRPLAY Top100 Chart! "Anytime At All (Aftermath of Silence)" , my 2nd single ranked on Play MPE's Top5 Adult Contemporary streaming charts. But --- WINNING New York's The Artists Forum 2021 International Music Competition in Indie/Singer-Songwriter category end of December really put the icing on my 2021 cake.

Speaking of the Beatles. Ajay Mathur also has the Beatles to thank for his successful music career. Growing up in India, it was none other than the Liverpool fab four themselves who awakened the passion for music in the then 14-year-old - when Ajay met them in person in the fateful year of 1968. This is just one of the countless exciting artist anecdotes that Mathur has lived through during his career spanning more than four decades. The meeting with The Beatles was literally a life-changing encounter for Ajay, which eventually led to his former band Mainstreet after his relocation to Switzerland. In his new adopted country, he quickly found great success in the European music scene and recorded four albums with Mainstreet in the 1980s and `90s.
This artistic self-confidence and self-understanding has already been demonstrated by Ajay on his previous albums "A Matter Of Time" (2011), "Come See Conquer" (2013), the Grammy-nominated "9 to 3" (2015), as well as "Little Boat", released three and a half years ago, which was named "Germany's best English-language album of 2018" by the German Pop Foundation. All albums not only generated excellent reviews in international media, but also earned Ajay Mathur placements in the US Top 50 Rock charts, the US Top 80 Independent charts, the US Top 50 AC and Americana (AMA) airplay charts, as well as the European Indie Music charts (where he remained for no less than 128 uninterrupted weeks)
