"Walkin'on the Water" is a breath of fresh air!
This song is a must listen for any fan of Country, Gospel, Pop, Americana, or Rock'n Roll. When I heard the opening guitar lick I had to do a double take at my computer, because I could have sworn that I was listening to Mark Knoffler. That tone, the pick attack, that style...the resemblence was uncanny. And it only got better after that. The upbeat rhythm, the gospel B-3 in the background, and a female gospel choir vocal section singing call and response sends this tune straight over the tip top of the Eiger! Jay Mathur has really got it going on here with his song "Walking on the Water"! Its actually hard to tell that this song wasn't produced at a large recording facility, because so much time, effort, and care went into capturing all of the truly inspired performances which make up this composition. This man has obviously surrounded himself with some amazingly talented and gifted musicians along with some major production engineering talent. Not to mention, the extremely talented vocalist himself, Mr. Ajay Mathur. The heart'n soul that Ajay puts into his vocal performance complements the female gospel choir so sweetly. And the rest of the ensemble just cements the melody and rhythm of the song to form a rock solid rock'n tune that is total ear candy. This Song is going into my personal collection along with all of my other favorites from N1M. Yes, "Walking on the Water" is a breath of fresh air straight from the alps ;)

So catchy!
Right from the very first note you get hooked on the groove of this song. It is well-written and recorded. Ajay sings it well. His voice reminds me of some of the Memphis singers I've met over the years. I look forward to hearing a lot more from Ajay Mathur!

Review of Walking On The Water
Nice peppy tune Ajay! I enjoyed listening to it very much. Instrumentation and vocal are both very good. The bridge helps the song from becoming boring. Background vocals are good and add a lot. Keep up the good work.

Country got Swing
This is a kinda nice toe-tapping tune. It's got a real old-school country feeling - particularly in the backing vocals (nice choirs of pure-singing ladies), the steel and lead guitars, real classic country stuff. The lead vocals are definitely more contemporary - a little rough and a little spiritual, which of course is what this song, Walking on the Water, is aiming for. Loved the way the song has been structured, mixing a bit of dynamics and good instrumentation to keep interest throughout. Who'd a thought it came from Switzerland?!

Walking On The Water!!
Very nice tune. You did a great job on production. Lots of stuff going on in the song (which I like). Makes me wonder if you are a full band or a "one-man band" and did all of this yourself. The guitar work stood out to me but I also like the multiple vocals. What else ya got?

Status quo country
Shades of Dire Straights. Interesting that this happens in Switzerland. Feelgood vibe should get audiences dancing and smiling. Transcendent lyric content. Kinda standard or conventional vocal delivery.

Unusal song structure
Hey what's this? The song is unusual in many ways, but I noticed the structure, it's not comparable to the usual patterns, but the song has a very nice flow and groove. A wild mixture of gospel, soul, country and pop. I like the background vocals best, really cool and I can well imagine a spectacular live performance, the song has so much energy. The only thing I don't like is that the outro starts so early. After 2:30 a lot doesn't happen anymore for about 1 minute. I think that's too long, got a bit bored in the end.

Nice start up!
This song starts out with a bang! Instantly gets the listener up to speed. These are good lyrics and the vocalist has a very pleasant voice. This is a feel good song with a really fun tune that makes a person want to clap and join along singing "Walking in, walking in the water!" This is a good tune and all the musicians did a really good job playing this up beat and joyful song. Five stars for this tune, hands down!

yes
WALKING ON THE WATER is a very trendy piece, one hears from the beginning that you breathe an important air, an important historical period and an important dream, the American one that made the whole world fall in love and today it makes you fall in love again. is a very cute genre that involves you and you can not stay still you have to move, move and still move until you have more but then want to start over.

Walking on the Water
This is an infectious song. It just kinda' reaches out and grabs you and then holds on until it is finished. The song has been recorded well, and there lot of tasty guitar licks with really nice tone. I especially liked the lyrics: " No one's cheating 'cause there aint no play-by-rules, I looked for wisdom in a world of fools". Seriously, how many of us have blindly entered into something without defined boundaries, and then looked to a sage, guilty of the same foolish mistakes, for guidance? I feel that the female vocals take an otherwise "polished, gritty" vocal quality and diminishes its presence. I believe the recording would be even more engaging without the female harmony and background "oohs". They were executed well, but were too old school pop sounding for my taste - maybe a bit too sanguine. Ajay's back-up vocals were just a little gritty like bits of his lead vocal performance. This seemed more consistent to me.

Nice song
This is a well produced and well written song. I like the mood it sets. Happy and jovial, almost to the point of screaming out a testimonial. All the instruments are well done. I especially like the drums and the guitar work. there is just one thing that keeps me from liking this song completely. "Walkin' on the, walkin' one the water. Walkin' on the sea yeah" This song would sound better if that line wasn't in it. There's just something about it that disturbs me and takes away my attention from the good parts of the song. That is one man's opinion.

WALKING ON WATER
I love your sound!! .It reminds me of being at a McGuffey Lane Concert. This song has Amazing Energy and even joy in spite of the message of the lyrics. I love it! It has a excellent sound SUPERB LYRICS, expressing a well known sentiment of abandoned dreams and hopes lost. For a vision of paradise you have squandered your dreams. I love the rock pop country sound especially of the string instruments. This song hits a chord with many. I trust you will bring more to the next song. Excellent musicianship and composition. Keep the hits coming!

Walking on the water
This get me vibe of Pure happiness. You got an ounce of Dire Straights, Van Morrisson, and a lot of Ajay. The guitarplaying is awesome and the voice is cutting true in a good way. Walk on water people.

I like it.
The lyrics are a bit ambiguous and generally speaking I like straight forward songs - but I'm ok with some ambiguity and I think this song has a good mix of concrete ideas and metaphors. I love the music - good tempo and it's a good sound.
