alansmithee is a four-piece musical collective based in Livingston. formed in 2011, the band received many
praises while playing their lo-fi- garage- psych tones around central Scotland and continue to do so today.
The boys at alansmithee take the (expired link) ethic to the very limit, putting together beat up old drum kits to
practice on, creating all artwork and imagery, as well as writing and recording all of their own material.
alansmithee do not see themselves as a band with a leader or a front-man, but as a collective of
musicians with very different styles and influences spanning over many era's and many genres. This leads to the creation of tunes which seem old and new at the same time, rocky and chilled out in parts, and a back catalogue wide and varied in sound and design.
