About Altera

The band was formed in 1998, Dado replaced the original drummer in 2000, they released EP Ablaze in 2002, performed live all around Croatia playing Nirvana covers and their own songs. New CD to be rel The beginning of the band goes way back when Maja started attending the primary school of music to take her classical guitar lessons at the age of 9. She would come home and teach her mom, Kristina, all she learned. Soon, another guitar was needed and bought, and very fast Maja's horizons widened to turn away from classical music to the Kelly Family, the Offspring, Nirvana… which they both started playing, of course. After 4 years, she definitely chose rock as her preferred style. Soon the two of found a drummer in the neighbourhood, they tried to play together and it sounded interesting. So they started going to rehearsals together and enrolled in the Rock Academy in Zagreb. Maja and Kristina found their current drummer Dado there and the band was definitely formed: Maja - guitar & vocals, Kristina - bass, Dado - drums.

The band recorded their first demo having won 10 recording hours in a studio at a band competition. In 2002, they recorded an EP in a professional studio. The CD was named Ablaze and featured 4 songs. The material for new CD is currently recorded, comprising 11 songs, but has not been released yet.
