New stuff from me

Put together a new song, a blues number in E. Not sure if it's anything at all, but I hope it's at least presentable, it's called "Long and Tall". It's got a little harp attack, a keys solo, and some lackluster blues singing by me, and that's just the way it goes. It's on Youtube and also tacked onto my latest EP on Bandcamp, Down the Line.

This is a song about being a traded commodity in end game capitalism, living the life on the exploited slave. It has drums on it, in my sloppy style that's off the grid so hopefully that's a nice change of pace, with some swing and feel. Otherwise it's just overdubbed me on piano, drums, bass and vocal.

So I released my new album, entitled Fatal Flaw, on bandcamp ((expired link)). Please check it out if you'd like to support me and lift my spirits. It's a big behemoth of an album at 13 songs and more than an hour of music, so you will get your money's worth. There's much variety with a few acoustic only numbers, along with the full band sound of piano, guitars, and bass. My sound is drumless, just to let you know. I tried adding beats but it came out sounding like ass so I lost them. It's also amateurishly mastered by me, so it won't sound anything approaching slick, more like indie lo-fi. Hopefully the result is down-home and homely, with a timeless quality.

Missing Pieces (or the Meta-4's) is a one man operation, just me myself and I. It's because I'm a loner, an outsider, and a rebel, and I make music that reflects that. The songs cover subjects from lost love to mental illness, to a tribute to my dear old doggie. I hope I convey gracefully that I'd like to shove it to the Man. Please understand that I can't afford Diamond membership on N1M, so I won't be posting new songs there, as I would like to save stats on the 3 songs I have there. But bandcamp is a great place to support artists, and it's free to listen to 3 times before you buy.

So if you'd like to bring some joy into my life, then please check out my new album, Fatal Flaw. Feel free to let me know your thoughts on it, I'd love some feedback. So I got selected again by n1m for a best new artist promotion. This is very nice, yes? I'm pretty happy about it, as that means more listens for my music, and more messages from nice people like you. As for life for Andrew Kayo, well I just got vaccinated so that means I won't be coming down with the plague. Very good news. Perhaps I might even be able to eat out at a restaurant in a couple months for my birthday. And I ain't no spring chicken!

Linked down below is a newish song called Hey Babe, Don't Look Back. I tacked it onto my Missing Pieces EP on bandcamp. It's a grungy kind of thing, maybe cut a little too slow, but oh well. Vocals are actually alright, not sure about the rest of it, especially the guitar solo, but I'll let it pass. Also on bandcamp is a different version of Shivers and Quivers, with piano and bass added for a fuller sound. Not sure how muddy or not the mix is, but I'll live with it, hopefully you can listen with headphones or some kind of resolving system.
