About Anguile
"I don't have prejudice against myself. My father was a white and my mother was black. Them call me half-caste or whatever. I'm not on nobody's side. I'm not on on the black man's side nor Born in the 60s in Paris France Anguile Bruno Simonet left right away with his parents for the land of his father, Gabon. That is where he grew-up in the 70s in the quartier of Glass in Libreville the capital of Gabon.
His father was the descendant of a Gabon King and Anguile lived where his ancestors stayed for generations. There he learned about his history and his culture. Washed by the wave of the Atlantic ocean, and right next to the great virgin forest of Equatorial Africa, his soul was filled with love for his country and continent. Music was part of life there. As early as 5 years old he would be listening to the 60s and 70s hit from the US and France as well as the local African versions of these songs.
Afro Jazz, Afro Rock, and all the party sounds from the Caribbean coming to the old continent and being adapted to African tastes.
Later in the 80s Anguile moved to Texas where he continued to be a DJ on jazz radio KNTU, studied film and television and participated in many musical projects as a videographer or producer. There in Denton Texas he met Rashani his now friend for the last 18 years and his producing partner on his first album Wisdom of the King.
