This review For World Studios outlines the periferals that explains that when doing a live show does give the true repsentations for the instruments when heard by the human ear but also noteing that with equipment that both or ither records the session dureing means that when in a room the acoustics of the room or hall etc can be caculated this has been the case for a long time but many live instrumentalists make the mistake that when playing a live room nowerdays theres no caculations for the enviroments there in so they just amplify the sound and what then comes about is the acoustics for the repesentation of the instruments means because they are just amplifyied the movement of the air expelled then creates a hiss and a flat non polished finish to the sound as the micrphone recieveing the sound movements from the instruments gets the air arround them that has missdefinitions in the movement gets amplifyied so any equipmens has to be set up correctly so as the sound that is amplifyied and transmitted to the audience is a true sound definition out put less the inteferance this can be achieved via the correct setup but none the less this goes to prove one point the recording that is presented as a live recording online that is digital can have this ommited so as to enhance the quality and provide this to the audience so this recording may well be live but sounds differant if i were in the right room that diddent encapsulate and cause any retension of the sound in a confined area but as this is the case then equipment set correctly can remidy this issue might i suggest a mixingdesk a computor and some condenser mikes and some software to handel the issues but noteing that you can take this live recording to the next level with some simple software to help the mastering and presentation of his piece (suggestion cooledit pro) as for the overall compilation and musical content it has the desired smooth finish and dreamy essance of a smooth jazz piece but however the rythem sections are lacking in the essances of the required flows of the playing of the rythems in reguards to the lazy playing of the drummer but the pianist is holding this all together for you the saxophonist could look at some of his expressions there are areas where he is over expressing the notes where he dosent need to and other ares where he should be basically needs to follw the pianists expressive flows better however i do like this compilation it does have appeal and if these musicans wish to step it up then not apply all of the above i can give a quick example of some reproccessing if you wish to email me with the request for digital perpouses only and ill send you the reproccessed files all the best and if your a listener sit back and enjoy this smooth acoustic moment in time all the best

Lovely cool jazz set in a traditional format of piano, upright bass, drums and sax. Very relaxing and smooth to listen to. I thought the recording quality could be better until I realised that it is a live recording. I would very much have liked to be at that gig! I would also very much enjoy singing with this combo. The musicians are obviously the real deal - sounds like they have been playing for years.
