About Approaching Necropolis

My better half and I have been writing music since 2003, some of which we got to perform live with our late band Beautiful Sadness. Among the material we wrote, I feel a very strong connection to a bunch of it that share my bleak vision of life.

Though lots of the material was recorded between 2011 and 2013, releasing this group of songs has been a rather challenging job. Simple domestic issues of a couple that lives together, my mental health and social relationships problems, the 2014 flood of our house, which destroyed the first draft of several songs along with some equipment, and our house and life built as immigrants for a decade, just kept on delaying the release of our post-apolyptic soundtrack.

Approaching Necropolis ended up being my pet project, the good feedback I got from the first single "An Anathema", self-published back in 2016, gave me the confidence to continue working on this personal music project that displays my thoughts, creed and feelings. Our second single "Alive" was published this past October 31st of 2019 at 3 am on our bandcamp account. We're publishing our third single for the Summer Solstice of 2020, which includes the collaboration of friends from the United States, Colombia and Canada.
