Walk Into the Water
Walk into the Water
I'm intrigued with stories and the values that they carry.
Over the years, I've repeatedly heard the biblical story of the Israelites crossing the Red Sea, fleeing the advancing Egyptian army.
Recently, I heard an interpretive twist on this story - that God did not part the waters until they showed perfect faith, demonstrated by one person walking into the water until their head was completely submerged. The story goes that, only then, did the waters part. I think life works like this, rewarding focus and action.
This reminds me a bit of the scene from the Last Crusade (Indiana Jones) where he takes a leap of faith and walks over the ravine, supported by a previously invisible bridge
Anyway, all of this seemed like a great setting for a song. We're all fond of making excuses instead of doing, beginning. It's time to ignore the negative relatives and test out that new idea. To summon inner courage. To do!
"The sea's about to drown us, and the enemy surrounds us, and it comes down to this moment, gotta walk into the water."
One of the toughest things to do is to begin. "grasping at hope, forcing our feet."
I hope this tune motivates you to quit stalling, and muster the inner strength to move forward. To reinvent. You can do it! Let me know your story, your obstacle, and how you can overcome it and walked into the water.
Let's get our feet wet and live life.
Love ya, Arnie
