R&B singer Asanté R&B singer Asanté was born in Pittsburgh, PA and got her first start after writing a poem for her late Father's obituary. Her passion for writing began at the age of 12. While living in Troy, Alabama she truly found her voice singing “Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here" by Deborah Cox to her late grandmother. It was at the moment that she knew she had a gift and ever since she’s been writing songs and singing. Michael Jackson, Prince, Terence Trent D'Arby , Aaliyah and Beyoncé are a few artists who inspires her musically and has passion and soul in their music. She hopes to have the same huge impact that they have in the music industry. She hopes to captivate the listeners with her raw voice and lyrics about the things she's gone through: the pain, the happiness, any and everything about life and love that everyone can relate to. It’s time for her light to shine and show the world what she's made of.
