About Audiokiss
Dublin band ‘Audiokiss’ write snappy riff-laden pop tunes with a hard edge. Their album, “Really Kind of Moving” contains their previously released singles “Bending Seas”, “A Little Realisation” and “Maybe”.
Audiokiss comprise members of some very well-known past Dublin bands including, ‘In Tua Nua’, ‘Rocky De Valera and the Gravediggers’ and ‘Christina Calls’. Former In Tua Nua and Rocky De Valera bass man Jack Dublin provides this new combo with a big back beat ably assisted by former Rocky de Valera drummer Rob Campbell. Add to this magical arrangement the soaring vocals of ex-Christina Calls front woman, Siobhan Mahon, and you have a band that delivers a hard sound with a classical pop sensibility interwoven through it.
And it’s not hard to see where the musical influences come from. With In Tua Nua Jack Dublin shared stages around the world with the likes of U2, Bob Dylan, Fleetwood Mac, Crowded House, Iggy Pop and Lou Reid. While vocalist Siobhan Mahon, whose voice has been described as being: “haunting, resonant, the voice of an angel”, drew record company attention with her band Christina Calls before going on to record a single with Liam O’Maonlaí from The Hot House Flowers for the Irish Hospice Foundation.
Audiokiss have teamed up with HOT HOUSE FLOWERS singer LIAM Ó MAONLAÍ to record a single titled “Broken in Time”. Liam – for those who follow Jeremy Clarkson (of Top Gear fame) – recently appeared with Hot House Flowers in the opening show of the Grand Tour singing “I can see clearly now”.
The most recent single “I Don’t Wanna Say” features Megan Burke. Megan has appeared on RTE’s ‘Class Act’ and also sang live on ‘Ireland Am’ show and ‘The Late Late show’. Megan has also reached the last 13 from singers from all over Ireland and UK for the 3 girl parts in the musical version of The Commitments in London’s West End. She has been performing non stop since the age of 5, when she took her first Dance/Singing class. In her teens Megan always gravitated towards songs from the past with artists such as Aretha Franklin and Etta James being a huge influence. While Megan has performed on many stages, her biggest stage was Wembley arena for the UK X-Factor judges where she made it through to the bootcamp stages. Ex Destiny’s child star Kelly Rowland told Megan ‘you are a star’ and that ‘there is nowhere but UP from here’ while Take That’s Gary Barlow confessed ‘I love you Megan’.
Audiokiss release their music on AyKayem Records (The bands own Indie label).
