BacQayard aka Lenny “Slyster” Sylvester Born in Trinidad and Tobago in my formative years move to Carriacou Grenada the homeland of my parents. I now based in Dundee Scotland and been involved in music most of my years. I have a varied taste in music and listen to different genres, but my influencers are people like Bob Marley and the Wailers, Lucky Dube, Finley Quaye, Sting, Joan Armatrading, Toots and the Maytals, Prince Buster, Alanis Morrisette, Tupac, Busy Signal and more….
BacQayard started out as a way of helping me to focus on something tangible like an object or a name, when researching for materials for writing music and lyrics for new projects.
Being in lockdown and not able to do live gigs or studio work due to the pandemic, inspired me to setup my home studio to record and write new material which eventually brought the BacQayard project to life. Having experience and written a song about the virus, I realised then that had 20 to 30 songs which I had completed enough to produce an EP or Album. The EP or Album BacQayard is due out later this year with the first track taken from it “2019 ahh Wah me ago do” drop in April 2021 and “So Lonely” drop December 2021. There are exciting times ahead for BacQayard and the journey to begins.
