This is a typical intrumental ProgRock Song. At the Beginning the "Crisis"-Idea is very interesting - it sounds psychodelic, with cool effects and surreal atmosphere. After that, there are "fat" Guitar & Keyboard solos. It's cool!

Very interesting approach. Love the guitar totally! I like the way things build in general. I'm not really a fan of the synth solo, sound more 80's than today. What I think would be awesome is if you had electric violin. That working in compliment with your guitar work would look and sound great. Excellent transition to different movements. I don't see this as a movie piece. I think this can stand by itself. I see a lot of colored laser lights and backgrounds playing along with you playing this piece. If U ever do a video, I would love to see it. Great work!

What I like most about Crisis from Barnum's Freak is how expansive it is. Not easy in instrumental tracks without compromising melody or dynamic but this track is impressive and moving.

There's a European flair and finesse to this production that makes for a smooth listen. The musicianship and engineering are first class. The transitions between sections and ebb and flow of energy are well crafted. Tension and release take you thru the sections in a very cohesive flow, movie scenes run through the mind's eye.

Barnum's freak are for sure one of the most interesting progressive band I listened in the last years. In Italy, nowadays, when you think at Naples, you think at chaos or at the neomelodic singers, but also at genius and creativity. Well, listening this bend you will forgot chaos and you discovered a band with an excellent technical bakground and with a good taste on the melodics and armonics choose. Precision, feeling and creativity are the cards to introduce this band on the Olimpus of the new progressive rock bands. I'm really surprised. For me this band represent the continuity with the golden age when Neples was represented in the word by bands as "Osanna" or "Napoli centrale".

Crisis is a modern progressive work that has that feel and sound of things very classic. This is some of the most enjoyable music I've heard since E.L.P., P.F.M. and others in the genre. Crisis is full of meter and key changes that are sure to appeal to the most diehard musician and provide a very entertaining listening experience for the average listener. Barnum's Freak is definitely a band that I plan on following and Crisis was a very nice introduction to their music. My hat is off to the band!

A confident solo guitar takes the lead in this compelling rock track. Full steady drums hold things down while keyboards alternate with the aptly performed guitar. Nicely placed melodies abound in the solo work here. The breakdown section evolves into a new and decidedly different feel. Guitar and keyboards take turns developing the melodies. Both making confident statements that build to a dynamic composition that proudly presents rhythms, melody and textures. The third section slows things down to reflect and build up once again with new chord progressions, finding fresh places to go. Here there are even strings supporting the guitar and piano melodies. This is quite a nice piece of music. This should find the exact movie that needs it to visualize the energy that it has to offer.

Barnum's Freak brings us Crisis. First off... what a great name for a band... lol! Now on to the song... which btw when I googled the band name I found a youtube video for the song. Oddly enough there seems to be difference in how N1M and YT process their audio streaming... The YT version seems to have a lot more spatial clarity and a crisper top end to the eq spectrum. Not sure what that's about. However the song itself is an excellent tribute to prog rock and fusion akin to the days of King Crimson, ELP, Yes, Rush and Jethro Tull. Its very textural in its layering of the rhythm structure. It is a wonderful journey to take, especially with headphones on. The hammond B3 is a nice touch, albeit I would have loved to hear some leslie cabinet application to this song. A couple of well placed sweeps would have helped make some of the turns and twists of the fabric in this song more defined. Half a point deducted by the Russian Judge... :-P This is a true gift to the prog rock audiophile.

I would say 'Crisis' is very well performed with a great variety of instruments arranged. It has a great line of intense moments and breaks for suspense. I like how it moves to exciting to a nice calm. It is a lot like a scene in a film where you see someone struggling to through their difficult time. It is well described and it sounds like a lot of time went into it. I can relate myself. Well done. Keep it up!

Today we will be looking at Barnun's Freaks "Crisis" The thing that really pulled me in on this track was their band name and cover artwork. Awesome name, but the deceptively simple cover art really grabbed my attention...very nicely done, ok...enough musing on the name and cover art, onto the music. Two words, unique and killer. The blending of modern keyboard idea's with a prog-rock backdrop at the beginning is nothing short of amazing. There is so much to love here, the groove, the composition itself, the choice of instrumentation, the wicked recording...there's everything! I hear Deep Purple, Mike Oldfield, Floyd, lush film score style passages, this is one well written song. It never gets boring, it doesn't overstate itself, the solo's are all tastefully played and compliment the music rather than dominate it. I listened to the track twice and found new things with every spin. I was really impressed how the band captured the Symphony X/Dream Theater feel but stayed within that killer Seventies vibe. From composition to execution this is a masterpiece of modern music rarely heard in the Indie Scene. If you like music and want to expand your horizons with what music can do in the hands of some truly gifted individuals, then you should be listening to Barnum's Freak, Superb! Liked how the guitar sounded at the beginning. It's a pretty good beat overall. The 80's sounding keyboard took me a lil off. Amazing progression and great piano sounds. I enjoyed listening to your song.

Hi there; Thanks for asking me to give you my humble opinion on your song; As always I will start with the good things; This track shows good musicians playing with a lot of skill and idea. The mix is good and kind of matches the intention of the piece, I don't feel any kind of experimentation on the final intention by the producer. It calls my attention the keys on this song; they are excellent. The things why I am not giving you 5 stars are related more to the final product and my reaction as a listener. The name of the song is certainly not reflecting the music content and probably reflects more something related to a search, a voyage or a trip. The brakes of the song are amazing but they really take you away from some melody to remember and then what could be a memorable song becomes a list of magnificent parts on line, make your self an experiment; Play the song to a five different persons and immediately ask them for the main melody of the song if they remember your musical idea you have a hit. Finally I miss more real life interaction between the players in the song; for example the guitar player is only doing a lead part and then is silent on the other parts, ( I am a guitar player and I never stop making some noise in a song, that is our nature) bass and drums are very mechanical. I love progressive rock, and I do have to say that this is the best piece of work that I've heard since Rush's album "Moving Pictures." I can definitely tell that Rush is one of your influences given the fact that there are heavy guitars mixed in with synthesizers and keyboards over great bass playing and drums. I can even hear a bit of Pink Floyd in there too. This is quite a creative composition of music my friend. I give you 5 stars!!!! Keep up the great work

hey, you're talented, I liked at first sight and I would say it has a hint of progressive but not well in that style, progresive is very instrumental and has clean vocals, but what I here mean is that your instrument has that swing and pleases me. and the sound, it's neat and all instruments were able to take a big track : )
