"I Found Jesus In The Cab Of My Old Beat Up Truck" by Betty Overstreet is a refreshingly honest take on the tried-and-true Christian conversion song, particularly because it is from a female point of view. The back-up band lays down an outstanding groove in the background. The lead vocal is pretty good. It's strong and clear and authentic. For my taste, thought, the lead vocal is mixed a little too far forward. Sounds like the band is down the hall in an adjoining room. The structure of the song is verse-chorus-verse-chorus over and over, with no break and no bridge. That isn't necessarily bad, but the listener will pay attention longer if there are surprises mixed in. There is an odd surprise at the beginning of the song. The band is joined abruptly, in progress, making me think maybe I missed something and causing me to back up to the beginning a time or two. It's a novel approach to an intro, but would work better if it was faded in. I would especially like to hear an instrumental break, to let one or two of those outstanding players step forward and shine. All in all, a good story and a believable tale of confession and conversion. Even in the cab of an old pickup truck, Jesus is there.

I hold to the old - saying " Beauty Is In The EAR of The Beholder ... LOL. The sound quality of the recording over-all is very crisp and bright and clear, I really enjoyed the message in this song. Great backing music, so think about a music solo break to step away from vocals for a short period in future works. Vocals are smooth and natural, sort of - down to earth as they say, and extremely peaceful. The mix levels let me know who was still in charge of this song. Very easy to sit back and listen to. I mean no offense in any part, I myself take all feedback and use it as a tool toward my next project. I pray you feel the same way. Either way, I say to you, keep doing what you do, keep kicking and enjoying what you do. I tell folks all the time for many years. I kept passing over this song I finally stopped to give it a listen and surprisingly if you're a musician/ musiclover this is the type of song that can really grow on you the vocals are well performed the music is on point it's just good old down home Blues you know the foot tapping kind. Every musician knows this four on the floor Blues This is the music people dressed up and went to listen to Have some drinks and forget the problems of the world.Now my true opinion this is the original equivalent Of today's music known as TRAP it sucks you in and grows on you once you hear it it's hard to get it out of your head all that said and this is not my favorite style of music But it is likable and the song is well written .can argue With the storyline at Good Job....Great Song & Performance .Fun with a solid Message!!!
