About Big Bee Baby
What inspired Big Bee Baby to make music?
Based in Saddletree, NC as William Namon Blanks, "Big Bee Baby" is a musical artist the pushes the boundaries in modern day hip hop. Inspired by "The Rose That Grew From Concrete," by rapper and political activist Tupac Shakur, Big Bee Baby grew up racing to finish all of his school work before others so he could use the extra time to write poems in his note book. Suffering from asthma symptoms at a young age he had to drop out of normal extra curricular activities such as football, baseball, and basketball. He joined the choir at his families church and found a love for performing in front of crowds.
When did start recording?
I was recording music back as far as I can remember, but it was a lot harder back then. My older brother gave me a cd with guitar type instrumentals, and I would play it on the boom box and I had one of those flat long tape recorders I would use that to record while sung and rapped over the beats. That's the first time I recorded myself. When I was older maybe 17 or 18 I was living on my own I invested in my first studio and started learning how to do everything digitally and produce with a professional sound, especially when one of my homies taught me about condensor mics, thats when Behringer came out with the C1U, and Samson came out with a similar mic so u didn't need a preamp anymore it became a lot more affordable.
