Takin Too much Time like 5 mins of my time

This song is the definition of Lofi. The intro with some unidentified voice kind of set the tone for this whole beauty. I don't know why it wasn't edited out. The singing, even though not horrible, was unintelligible. I applaud you for playing a relatively seamless guitar for 5 mins with all the other things going on here. I also give you kudos for requesting a review for this monstrosity, that to me, is like tying pork chops around your neck and then walking into a lions den. This song seemed like an after thought after happy hour~

Your Song "TAKIN' MY TIME 2"

Nice Guitar work on the intro and very good lyrics with a nice story to tell with no hurry for nothing but taking you time on down the road. That the kind of song you want to hear by a campfire and popping open a bottle of your preference and sounds like a great time for some slow gin and tonic. I got to give you credit for putting this song together as a solo artist and not that bad of a recording at that. Write On~~~

Delivery

Rhythm and lyrics are good, delivery could be more clear and it sounds like the mic or you are too far away from it. Can't really hear all of the lyrics like you want to. Sounds like there should be a guitar breakdown somewhere within the track

Taking my time 2 review

First off the effort is definitely there. Really good guitar playing, but that one chord through me off a bit. The lyrics need some work, same with the vocals. Overall its an ok song, nothing terribly bad to say but nothing amazingly good either.

It's worth taking your time...

...to listen to this song, including the extended instrumental intro. When I hit "play" I heard talking in the background and the movement of a mic. I looked at the title of the song and chuckled. No hurry, I thought. The guitar work on this shares a tight and driven rhythm with plenty of flavorful chord voicings that are especially appropriate to this style of lively folk-rock. P.S., I hate giving stylistic titles, but someone's gonna want to know. Bill Cole gets to the point lyrically with his nicely weathered voice. He takes no time getting to the crux of the story. I liken this music to the kind of material I've enjoyed at random stages throughout the country when some guy in my age group and in no hurry, gets up and knocks you over. The style is established from years of doing this. The confidence says, like it or don't, I'm having fun. It's been awhile since I've hit Boston, but now I think I have another reason. Thanks Bill!

Interesting accoustic song

Nice accoustic song. Guitar and voice. Got a "Beatles" feeling when I heard it the first time. Some exciting chord changes that made the song more interesting. Nice and charismatic voice. I liked the changes of Dynamics in the song. Well played and well sung.

Calm

close, intimate recording. Smart chord progression, voice sounds like he is singing in your living room. This a document or a finished product. I like it, give it a listen when you need something calm.

Less is more

An interesting tune with some unexpected chord patterns, classic and simple chord strumming and a remarkable voice. Personally I think that around 03:40 the main story is told, and the song could have ended here. The last minute doesn't add much more to it besides the fact that it's getting a bit long. Anyway, a good and atmospheric piece of acoustic rock music.

Small production

Sorry to say that but it is really a small and puritanic production. The guitar playing is very fine, the melody not really coming to the ear.All in all not ready for a hit.Sorry for that to say.

by any other dimension...

Bill Cole and Cornplanter brings us Takin' my time 2, which begs the question of what the first version sounded like. From a listener's perspective it sounds like an open jam song, a tail of life lived. From a producer's perspective there is a lot of potential that could have been had with more than just this one take of singing and playing at the same time. Had this been tracked out and done with a click track and then added some midi and basic drums, and even some harmonies this could have been a 5 star song. But it isn't...

Does the world need this song?

Dear Bill, we are so many. Each has a voice and something to say. Fortunately for us in the more liberal corners of this wonderful planet, we are free to express ourselves and take advantage of the wonderful options technology affords. Bob Dylan once said 'there are too many songs, this world doesn't need more, that is unless there is something really important to say.' I listen carefully before reviewing and was attracted to choose your song because of the upbeat strum of the introduction. I began to feel less enthusiastic when the intro repeated.. When the vocals began, I felt they were a little too quiet in the mix. The sentiment is consistent, but I find the body of lyrics rely too heavily on well-worn cliches. As the song progresses, it is clear that it is also not well rehearsed. You play well enough and I would enjoy the timbre of your vocals if your pitching was a little firmer and more present in the mix. All in all, I honestly don't think the world needs this song, though I would be happy to listen to a more compact and better rehearsed version. I wish you well.

Takin My Time

A beauty of a tune. Great guitar riff played with high energy. The song lyrics come from the heart and flow nicely however could of been a bit louder. The chord progression is interesting as is the vocal melody. It runs and walks and always keeps you interested. I think it's a recording of a performance hence the odd fudgy bits but it's got soul and heart and that's all music needs to be good. I listened to it half a dozen times because the singing is excellent. Great job sir !

Acoustic Interesting

I really enjoy the guitar and flow of the song. Brings me back to listening to acoustic songs from the 1960's and early 1970's. The intro seems a bit long, though. I'd like the levels of the vocals to be a bit higher so your voice doesn't get second billing to the guitar work. I think that's a problem for this song - the guitar is the star of the song. I listened to the song 3 times to hear the story.

Takin' My Time 2

Hiya Bill, many thankx for the review request. The opening chord progression really hits home from the opening chord. Nice, powerfull playing, with great tone and musicality. The guitar resonance is also really crisp and clear, with absolutely great vocal deliverance. Great timbre and intonation on all of the vocal lines. In a way this song comes across as Bob Dylan meets The Byrds, and then the Eagles. Not to be sneezed at. The tempo changes are also very good and subtle, but not overdone. Just enough to keep the song rocking at a nice pace. This song also holds up well with only acoustic backing - and no other instruments, this goes to show what a guitar in the ''right'' hands can do - very well done, a really good and enjoyable song.
