There is a streaming concert available on the Keystone Korner website. It is not the the funk band but is my NY quintet for $10 until tomorrow, Wed. 9/30 at 5:00. (expired link). Hi everyone, We have finished our new Hell's Kitchen Funk Orchestra recording entitled "Smile". Release date is June 5, 2020. The HKFO is Bill Warfield, John Eckert - trumpets, Andrew Gould, Dave Riekenberg, Matt Hong - woodwinds, Jane Stuart - vocals, Matt Chertkoff - guitar, Cecilia Coleman - keyboards, Steve Count - bass and Scott Neumann on drums, We are joined on this out by Carolyn Leonhart and Julie Michels - vocals, Blue Lou Marini - saxophone and Paul Shaffer on Hammond Organ and Fender Rhodes - piano. Please keep and eye out for it and stay tuned to my site (expired link) for information. We value your support and look forward to sharing a new set of tunes with you. Thanks to everyone for your support, I'll be at Dizzy's Jazz Club in NYC on July 28th with fabulous Jazz/Pop/Gospel vocalist Nicole Henry. The it's off to Prague on the 29th for 10 days of workshops and concerts with drummer Martin Sulc, and Hell's Kitchen Bandmates: Libor Smoldas on guitar and Jakub Zomer on Hammond Organ. Bill

Thanks for your support. After years of big band releases, check out the first release by Bill Warfield on the BluJazz label. "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" by the Hell's Kitchen Funk Orchestra was released on May 25th. Look for it on CD Baby within the next week. I am very excited to get back to my RB/Funk band roots with this new release. Look at it as a combination of Tower of Power and Mid-60s Miles. I know, I have trouble with that imagery myself. The 8 of us have put together a recording that starts with Zawinul's "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" and ends up with Benny Golson's "Whisper Not". In between we have funky and latin-based improvisational sketches of tunes by The Stylistics, the Ohio Players, Fats Waller, Tito Puente, the Brecker Bros., Eddie Harris and others. Very eclectic, very accessible, very satisfying. Check it out. Thanks, Bill
