Bishop Gerry Grant born in Birmingham , Al first discover his talent at the age of 7, writing and singing songs.He was ask to sing in front of his teacher and 2nd grade classmates. Inspired by his mother Lola Grant who was a professional singer doing that time, singing with the likes of Betty Everett, Sam Cook, Stevie Wonder, and the Temptations which his cousin Dennis Edwards is also a member. Competing in various talent shows, while at Woodlawn High school, winning several awards (most talented and first place singing in a talent show in 1976). Gerry Grant begin to excel as a singer and musican. chosen as one of the cities top Trombone Player's in Birmingham as well as the state of Alabama. He received scholarship awards in music to Alabama A&M , Tennessee State and Selma University. After attending Selma University in 1978 where he major in music and minor in religion, and business. Gerry Grant except his calling in ministry at the age of 23. In 1983 Minister Grant formed a group call the "Truebelievers", recording songs such as" Living In The Last Days" and "Saved By His Grace", placed him in the professional arena. Singing along side gospel greats like Al Green, Beau Williams and The Canton Spirituals, Minister Grant music soared to the national level. He appeared in the Gospel USA Magazine in Miami , Gospel Synergy Magazine in Chicago, and other various newspapers.. He also made TV appearances on TBN, GTV, and Fox 6 (Country boy Eddie show.) In 1992 Minister Grant Pastor" Rising Harvest Church" in Lake Providance L.A...Still inspired to record, he recorded "We,ve Got To Believe", produced by Steve Davis for ESLD Production, which became one of his biggest hits. Inspiring the music industry to follow. In 1999 The "Gerry Grant Ministries Inc" was establish. (Formerly We've Got To Believe Ministry.) In 2003 Bishop Grant release the cd "Jesus Has Kept Me", which made #1 on several gospel charts, and in 2009 a christmas single "OHoly Night", which has played national and international. Bishop Grant's long stance in the gospel industry from" President of SGR Records", (Daniel Peterman founder).
