We have not "posted" a while and wanted to get everyone up to date on Rene' and her treatment. A series of biopsies were taken in late Jan. They all came back clear which surprised everyone. These "clear margins" allowed for her to have surgery to hopefully remove the cancerous tissue and tumors. The last two weeks have been filled with appointments preparing for surgery. The operation took place Monday Feb 24th. All went well and Rene' is now home recovering. We now wait for the pathology report on the tissue removed during surgery and again hope for "clear margins" Once she has healed from surgery, she will have radiation daily for 6 weeks and then 52 more weeks of chemotherapy.
