Song Reviews
Devils Doorway
I work in the music world, I'm a sound engineer and I specialize in mastering. As you can guess, I hear a lot of music on a regular basis and I can honestly say this is one of the best songs I've heard in some time. Great lyrics, fantastic guitar work, very methodical all round and well planned. Good Job, keep up the good work.

Awesome instrumentalists
Shades of The Eagles here, and that is a great comparison for any band. I loved the guitar work at the start and the voice is strong and positive - this is a fabulous Band in anyone's book! Thanks for sharing Devils Doorway with me guys - keep this kind of music coming my way - I love it. Regards, Johnny Ramone of Angel International Management (UK)

Devils Doorway
Devils Doorway has a perfect intro for me. The story-line sounds very interesting. I like the vocals, and the music is extremely well done for my taste. This could be a song that would get the attention of a film producer, best of luck. Guy

Wow this is a wonderful song. It has awesome lyrics, solid driving musicianship and haunting, ethereal vocals. This is a great story by an accomplished story teller and well worth listening to the whole song.

Good feel
I enjoyed the story , also the drums are very nice. The guitar solo is very nice with a perfect tone for this song. I enjoyed the vocals on it. Nice Southern feel to it and a bit Country feel as well.

Song has good body.
I like the structure also the piano and the guitar work. I think the vocals are a little choppy Smooth out the vocals and add some strong backup vocals and you may have a really good song. Sounds a little like a Doors tune. Keep up the good work and give my stuff a listen. Richard Reeves.

Review Of Devils Doorway
I Think this song is good. But yes, spooky, and the lyrics is very true. I can actually relate to this song. The song have also good sound, and singer has a great rocking voice. Radio tune? Yes, but more for rock stations. I give it 4.1 and hope to hear more songs from the artist, but more country..

Haunting melody and gripping lyrics.
From the beautifully haunting steel guitar intro, to the brooding vocals, this song will draw you in. If Johnny Cash and the Eagles had a baby, it would be BK Gray. Excellent lyrics, great story, nice arrangement. The instruments build and take form throughout the track, excellently complimenting the storyline.

I believe Robert Johnson and you have tapped the same channel where all good songs come from. You guitar intro is very good and sets the scene for a song that questions the paths we all choose in life. Dark and aching you can feel the pain in just three notes in. The lyrics tell a story and I feel like I know you as person . A good song like a good painting should reveal the truth about the artist and you do that very well. I will check out your other songs.

old school ballad
BK Gray brings us Devils Doorway, a power ballad in the style in the vein of many a classic hit. Unfortunately when you stick a formula so closely there has to be an entertainment factor.... That requires either action in the music or drama in the vocals. Unfortunately neither exist in this song. Sure there are other instruments that pick up about 2 minutes into the song but by then the attention span has wandered.

A throwback tune
As someone that grew up in North Carolina, this type of "Anthem" like longer songs were a staple back in the day. There is always a market for good music no matter the length but I personally lost interest about the 3:15 min mark. I did listen to the entire thing and think this tune if shortened to radio length has potential.

Devil's Doorway
This number is overall a good product and very listenable as is but I am going to take a bold stance and throw out some thoughts I believe will enhance it's listening mode. First of all the song is obviously a song of faith and struggle with the things that try to take you away from same. The chief culprit is the temptations the devil invites you to access, hence the "Devils Doorway". It is a clever approach to stating this age old struggle. The lyrics are crafted well and the melody has a resemblence to the old classic House of The Rising Sun. The intro is a solid guitar delivery and doesn't seem as long as it actually is. Through out the entire number the guitar sets the mood of the song. The entire music track is very well arranged and delivered. The vocal is good but due to the arrangement is slightly hindered from being what I think can be even better. The first thing that hits you in the face is the length of the song. 7 minutes is a time frame that goes well beyong the general timing af most presentations. After playing this piece a couple of times it strikes me that the tempo may be more of liability than the actual time. I have mentally uped the tempo rate by 8 to 12 BPM's and in my mind the song goes better. If this piece is mastered digitally then I would recommend trying this approach some to see how it turns out. It will shorten the time and the vocal will be easier to deliver as well as the pitch will remain the same. It couldn't hurt to try and there is a possibility of trying another shot to see if the vocal is easier to deal with. The rest of the track can stay as is. It won't hurt a thing to get the master out and play with the tempo some because everything remains the same on the master. Bottom line is this is a good product as is but maybe a few experiments can make it better. Thanks for allowing me to listen and comment.

Review Devil's Doorway
Great guitar work steady vocals, very atmospheric but for me took a little while before it got going. This caused In little loss in interest for me and it was expecting it to break into a steady rock groove with dramatic highs and lows but it never really got there. Reminded me a little of Dead or Alive (Bon Jovi) but the lyrics never really hooked me in and kept me there for the entire piece. Great effort though and the talent is there for all to hear.
