Featured as part of Relix magazine’s “Bands on the Rise” in 2012 and featured on the Relix compilation disc; Blue Lotus is an up and coming improvisational rock and roll band that is making waves across the West Coast. Formed in 2011 after a chance encounter at the Oregon Country Fair, singer/songwriter Brandelyn Rose and now 17 year-old guitar prodigy Felix Blades, sparked a unique, collaborative friendship that has attracted other talented artists. The rhythm section comprised of Ben Bosse on bass, Peter Allen on percussion and Bob Becker on drums, drive the band with dynamic grooves that keep the audience shaking. Recently joined by Ron Puso on keys, Puso brings a few of his own songs and a special blend of what he calls “intergalactic soul” to the mix, further enhancing the band’s eclectic sound. Blue Lotus features original songs written and composed by Rose with each band member arranging their own instrumentation in the true spirit of collaboration and improvisation. Rooted in Rock and Blues, and experimenting with elements of Bluegrass, Americana, Jazz and Funk, the band fuses styles to create a high-energy, fun and danceable melodic hybrid.
