About BLUE MOVIE
From inception, Blue Movie has set out to make a unique collection of original music that treads the fine lines between musical genres. From studio to stage, the band strives to relay sincere and real emotion in all of their musical (expired link) sound encapsulates many of the band's various musical influences that culminate into hard edged guitar riffs, driving bass runs, impactful defined drumming, deep stirring synth lines, and catchy vocal phrasing.
The band released their debut EP, “8MM Love Songs” in late 2012 with the single Murder Will Out. The concept of this video inspired local comic artists/publications to create a compilation comic based on the band while tying in their music to the storylines titled ”On The Loose”- "The Blue Movie Chronicles”. With their new horror themed music video and comic the open doors to the world of sci-fi and horror culture were fully and unexpectedly realized.
The sequel, "Delusions in Technicolor" (2014), further expressed the band's need to once again grow their sound while striving to push the limits of their writing and production skills in the studio. With the single from the this EP, titled ”Sewing Shadows”, the band attempted to tap into the intricacies of studio work and experiment with an array of ear catching melodies and blending of textures. Which, in turn, help set the mood for the entire EP. The following 8 minute music video for Sewing Shadows was released along with 2 comics that year (Survive the Five & Revelations Pt1). With this and past comic releases under their belts the band found themselves showing at NYC Comic Con for 3 years in a row.
With their latest release titled, "Synthetic III" (2015), the band embraced a darker tonality adding a more aggressive energy to the mix along with some lineup changes. The title tracks "Nebula" & "Electric Water" were meant to convey the raw energy of the band and their persistence to stay ahead in today’s ever changing and unrelenting music arena. This Ep was also released alongside a new comic book titled "Echoes Across Time”. The book and its storyline spawned an idea for an alter ego to Blue Movie under the moniker Black Film which is used on the page and off, to express different facets of the band’s personality as a whole.
In the Fall of 2018, Blue Movie is set to release BROKEN MACHINES, a full length album which will once again move the band into new horizons while exploring their musical diversities beyond the previous releases.
