my review...
nice tasteful finger picking... good lyrics... singer has a good country rock tone... a bit like jamey johnson... most of today's country music is crap, but this is very good... on the ice skating scale, i give it a 5.5 on technical merit and a 5.6 on artistic impression... in other words... 4 stars...

Jesse- Blue Soul Redemption
Bring back awesome background when vocals kick in. Lyrics have meaning but get drownd out by background. That's really it...if you could back off the guitar in the mix then song has a more powerful point...right now I want to focus on guitar instead.

Review of Jesse
This song was very well thought through. I enjoyed the acoustics throughout. I was very impressed with how easy it was to follow Jesse's story and feel a part of the pain. The piece kept in rhythm and never got me lost. I personaly feel this song has amazing potential.. Great Job!!!

Guitar part is very cool & well played. I like the vocal performance & the story. I am big on song structures and inventive changes. This song doesn't offer a lot in the way of dynamic or structural variety. I would love to have heard this song get really heavy with a noticeable tempo change to really elevate the music. I am probably in the minority here, but I like songs of this nature that continually build in dynamics & intensity until they practically erupt.

Great potential here , without a doubt .. Great vocals ! I understand this is acoustic version and it does exactly what its supposed to do ... show -casing the story and vocals ! YES,YES , YES ... record this one !!! Reminds me thematically of Elvis great ballad "In the Ghetto". i think the crude language in the first vs. "piece of S**T" is unnecessary to deliver the message of the song , clearly he is a troubled young man trapped in an environment not of his choosing , and your intentions here is to convey the way people judge him and disowned him out casting him, setting the stage for the sad ending ... i just think for main stream it could be toned down in that respect , but that is just my opinion . I think the song is good and deserves a great production ! Best regards ... I give it 4.5

Good job. The guitar is really clean. The percussion sets the pace nice and steadily while the guitar tells Jesse's tale. The vocals fit, good story, kkep up the good work.

I love the song from beginning to end! Guitar is amazing and carries the song beautifully all the way to the end where it fumbles slightly. Vocals - love your rasping tone - country rock! I will definitely listen to more from Blue Soul Redemption. The melodious texture of the voice and guitar is easy listening - the right sound to chill out to. Keep up the good vibrations!

yes by all means include it in a album, in fact do an album like the eagles did, on the border, you know "dalton", love the idea, yes guitar is too high, you may want to rethink the key you are singing in, it happens alot, part of the song works for the voice, part doesnt, but i agree with some of the others, build up the instrumentation if if light, maybe banjo, mandoline, piano would be great on this one, check our "driving into the daylight" joe bonamasaa for ideas, you could really kick in the chorous, your getting pitchy, maybe when recording you had the guitar to hot in the phones, turn down the mix so you can hear the voical when you sing!!, you have what it takes, and have passion brogther, send the album when your done, love the western themes, maybe get ahold of some of the westen documentary for plays, venture records, randy becker

Nice work. Voice tends to get overpowered at times by drums and guitar. I think the story line is fine but the voice it self gets a little overdone without enough variety. Maybe the adding of other instruments would add more life. Nice work overall.

Nicely done. Well played, and performed. The lyrics is a story that you hear about frequently in the news unfortunately. Personally I would love to hear this with a full band.

Good production but honestly this is cookie cutter blah country that ive been hearing since the early 90's. be original and yourself. And if this is a true story and not about yourself. its kind of exploitation. my half a star is for your engineer.

This is a nice song, am loving the guitar I must say and it sounds really professional. Its musical and the beat on its own is emotional, it can turn your day around. Great work guys and keep it up. All the Best with your carrier...!

I really enjoyed great work production is clean and very well arranged. Love the fact that there is not to much effect on the vocals as it helps with the story telling.

Great demo; loud clean guitar punch in dynamics of electric guitar to go along the voice, slight on drums. And adding drums, to an eventual part of the song. Vulgarities are awesome in some genres, your song has more class than that, yes, record it.

Great ballad, dude! I really liked the guitar works as well as the harmonizing of your vocals. Others had posted a review of this song stating that you need a backing band to really give this song the justice that it deserves. I couldn't agree more. The song is already a hit. Once you get yourself a backing band, you'll be able to bring this song to a whole new level of greatness. Keep up the great work! I'm giving you 5 stars.

Jesse's Not Ready
Definitely a song with the Skynyrd vibe. Mainly in the singing, I'm almost getting a Travis Tritt...not a bad thing. The singing is convincing enough. Acoustic guitar sounds clean and organic. I kept waiting for the drum beat to fully kick in, but it never did. The drums sounded thin and I could barely make any kind of kick out...just a muted hi-hat? Lyrically, we've heard this story many times before, but they get the job done. The "piece of shit" lyric really seemed out of place in the verse. i would rephrase that. This song is in dire need of a chorus. The "Ride on....midnight rider" isn't much of a hook. And there's no bass at all. Acoustic guitars can get away with that if they were by themselves, but once you add the drum beat, you need some bottom end. The ending guitar has a few sloppy arpeggios, but overall is played well. This song starts out with promise, but becomes a never ending verse for me. I know the Black Keys get away with stuff like that all the time, but here there are no real dynamics. More instruments would certainly help that. This song is just incomplete as is. Write a chorus that takes us somewhere new and the verses may seem fresh again. You have potential with this tune, just not there yet.

I like the theme of this song, a song with meaningful lyrics, nice beat, and some neat guitar work with well sung vocals. Thought the chorus could have had more emphasis than it did, maybe some brass or keyboards? A fretless bass would have gone lovely in parts of it too.

This does ring familiar, but practically everything does in some way...I like it. You could tweak the notes a little bit to get further away from Everlast if you wanted to. Very distinctive vocals and good lyrics (neither of these rings like anyone to me). All in all a good job...you guys are a band to keep an eye on!
