Who is Bonny “Bonny B.” Raphael Bonaparte II? He's not just your typical musician, songwriter, singer, and composer. Born to local Creole-French mother, Eddie Marie Antee and world-renowned "Trini" drummer, Bonny Raphel Bonaparte, Bonny was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 16, 1985. Born with Microtia (underdeveloped ear,) he was born to a musician and a long line of "Trini" world-renowned steel-drum players and entertainers --destined to be a musician himself, but was born deaf on the right side.
Despite the odds that seemed against him, Bonny didn't let the deafness of his son stop him from putting Bonny on stage with him at various Las Vegas venues like the "Sands",MGM, Luxor and Ceasars Palace to sing backup. In true, Trini style, he expected his son to hear twice as well out his good ear and work twice as hard to develop the heart of Bonny B. II, his love for music, sound, and rhythm.
In 2000, Bonny had the surgery that would assist in correcting his Microtia and permit him to hear out of his right side utilizing a Cochlear implant. The surgery and the process itself took a very large toll on Bonny as children taunted and bullied him all throughout high school –not knowing the musical capabilities and talent that he had. Bonny turned to his music for comfort. It was then that he established his resolve and life-long pursuit. He began his journey to produce music that encouraged others, and to relay an overlooked message: that they were unique and perfect just as they are, no matter what size the challenges that they faced were. With the wind under his sails, he took it one step further and studied and trained to work alongside children with emotional and intellectual disabilities and to teach them life skills, behavior management, and how to cope with the world when the individuality of each person is not accepted nor embraced with care and love.
Even as he continues to write and produce music, and work, Bonny cares for his six children along with his wife (and manager,) Sara Bonaparte. Bonny is a family man who pursues all he does in order to provide as many opportunities and benefits he can to his family. He strongly believes that they deserve the world and does his very best to inspire them as well as others.
