The Bossa Duo Beat comes from an idea of making electronic music mixed with Brazilian rhythms. Here, Bossa Nova and samba are mixed with House and Minimal, eletronical bases are mixed with Brazilian instruments such as percussion and cavaquinho, all together and made to dance.
The project is led by Tao Castro and DJ Rico Machado. Tao is a composer, singer and guitar player, who works as player and producer in many cities in Brazil such as Rio, Curitiba, Natal, Porto Seguro and Brasilia. Tao also took part on the CD “Suburbios do Rio” with Master Edson Soliva and throughout his career has presented his own show at theaters and night bars in Rio de Janeiro.
Rico Machado is DJ, producer and researcher, who deeply knows all stiles of electronic music and has presented his show in the Live PA format at night clubs, parties, fashion events such as Mercado Mundo Mix. Rico was born in a musical family and his passion for Brazilian rhythms led him to the way of Bossa Nova and MPB. Nowadays, he uses Brazilian acoustic sounds in his presentations.
Tao Castro and Rico Machado are The Bossa Duo Beat. They had recorded a CD that summarizes this unique mix of sounds that works very well not only in a dance floor, but also in a Lounge, a Chill In or Chill Out. This CD also is a tribute to the 50th anniversary of Bossa Nova that is celebrated this year in Brazil. The Bossa Duo Beat is the renewal of this musical sort, a combination of Bossa Nova, Samba and electronic music, resulting in a big culture mixing. In its repertory, the Bossa Duo Beat presents some songs from the CD and some versions of consecrated Brazilian singers such as Jorge Ben Jor, Tim Maia and Marcos Valle.
