Field of Bronze
Field of Bronze is a dream rock power trio from Houston, Texas which delivers tastefully written Rock N Roll music with emphasis on melodies and harmonies that showcase the more peaceful and beautiful side of Rock music. Comprised of Singer and Lead Guitarist Joshua Pitt, Jonathan Hoffman on Drums, and Adam McFarland on Bass guitar and harmony vocals, Field of Bronze has found their way to create genuine and sincere music that sounds very classic, yet timeless.
What is so refreshing about a band like Field of Bronze is the total emphasis on the SONG. These guys don’t need any crazy stage personas or effects, their message and power is conveyed through the music they create. This is music that comes from a bit of a singer-songwriter perspective, which of course isn’t a bad thing. When I listen to any of the songs from Field of Bronze’s debut album, I hear a major range of influences in nearly every aspect, from arrangements, vocal delivery, chord progressions, etc.. I can hear John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, Steve Howe of YES, and David Gilmour of Pink Floyd just to name a few.
You can find the debut album from Field of Bronze titled “God Bless You, and Goodnight” here: (expired link). When I finished the album, the first thought that crossed my mind is “I can’t wait to hear more”. I’m certain you will think the same. Fortunately, this reviewer has some insight of what’s to come. In fact, the band shared an exclusive track with me that is a teaser for the new album which is set to be released this fall! I don’t want to spoil anything, but I will say that what I heard is absolutely phenomenal. I will be anxiously awaiting the release of the album! Until then, we can enjoy “God Bless You, and Goodnight”. Give it a listen, and enjoy the incredible art of music that Field of Bronze delivers.

Want Me
Rebels No Savage
“Want Me” is a hot new single from Rebels No Savage that gives that laid back and chilled-out vibe that will hit you right in the feels. The mellow and easygoing piano intro and smooth soul-filled vocals hook your ears from the beginning and will not let you go, of course you’re not going to want to leave this track anyways. In fact, you will want to grab your favorite drink, kick back, and let the track speak to you.
The track starts off with just some mellow keys and a chilled soulful chorus. As the song progresses, we are delivered a delicious dish of sonic goodness with a tasteful arrangement of many stylistic influences. This track is a great crossover because it combines a mellow easy listening urban experience with a little dash of reggae undertones, great hip-hop vocals with some strong R&B vibes, and some excellent rap flow that makes “Want Me” the ultimate blend for relaxation and chill. Ezla
Skeletons
Independant pop artist Ezla combines a unique blend of contemporary pop music with trippy and dark undertones to create an entirely new genre that can affectionately be termed “hypnotic pop”. Weird minor melodies that probably shouldn’t fit with the pop theme creates an instantly ear-catching hook that is very infectious and memorable. Ezla delivers a beautifully emotive vocal performance on “Skeletons”. Great melodies paired with the perfect poppy voice creates a fresh new take on pop music that transcends the typical norm of “genre”.
Ezla has been gaining a great deal of traction as of late. Taking the traditional pop norms and completely rewriting the rules to make this completely hers, Ezla is a true innovator in the world of pop music. It’s 2018, and just as you think all the rules have been written, along comes an artist like Ezla who throws all the rules away and creates her own. A fresh innovative mind such as Ezla’s is exactly the shake-up that we need to see in the modern landscape of music.

Jarel Portman brings an instant alt-indie rock classic with Runaway Blues. A high energy mix of Portman’s vocal prowess, powerfully strummed rhythm guitars, and a bass and drum combination that drives the song into another dimension. Portman’s vocal delivery shows an aggressive warmth that is powerful. Although there is no over-the-top screaming high notes, Portman gives us glimpses of the range of power in which he is capable of.
Runaway Blues is a single off of his Supersonic album. Supersonic is an album which has already found some decent success, as it has landed Top 30 on the North American College Charts (NACC). Upon giving “Runaway Blues” a listen, it is pretty easy to see why. “Runaway Blues” is a nice driving rhythmic powerhouse that offers fans of Alternative Rock a more than viable option. Although “Runaway Blues” would have been widely accepted in the 1990’s, it features a very contemporary and modern feel, giving it a wide potential appeal.
Portman has shown us with “Runaway Blues” that he has found his sound. If he continues to deliver high quality tunes such as this, you can expect to hear him make a lot of noise on the circuit for years to come. Look for “Runaway Blues” on College Radio rotation, and be sure to show your support on social media by Liking and Following these pages:

CiCaDiA is Fun, Weird, Trippy, and Enticing.
CiCaDiA is a Neo-Psychedelic Folk album from John Clark. Featuring a plethora of weird sounds, and an interesting combination of non typical instrumentation and traditional folk music, CiCaDiA offers a truly unique listening experience that is anything but normal.
Track Listing
Stickfolk Dream, Pt. 1
Hoppy
The Insect Inside
Bugs in My Skin
Magic Walking Stick
Sqirmy Hermes: A Snail Tale
Red Centipede’s Cicada Choir
Moonbug
Secondhand
Daniel Goonicorn
Should You Need Us
King of Cicadia
My Hearts In You
Hoppy’s Song
Stickfolk Dream, Pt. 2
Perhaps the greatest stroke of brilliance behind CiCaDiA is the artist’s ability to keep changing the sounds and stylings throughout the record but still managing to keep a straight line throughout that the most casual of listeners can comprehend and enjoy. For example, the first track “Stickfolk Dream, Pt. 1” opens with the sounds of a Cicada, followed by a portion of acoustic guitar driven music, which is then followed by a series of nature sounds with background noises which adds a soundtrack feel. Whereas on the completely opposite side of the spectrum, the second track titled “Hoppy” sounds and feels like a collaboration of the songwriter style of The Beatles with progressive undertones of Yes.
Next comes “The Insect Inside”, which certainly is an appropriate title, as the combination of diminishing Ukulele chords, horn sounds, stormy sounds, and acoustic lead guitar give an eerie feel that something is under your skin. Speaking of things under your skin, the next track is titled “Bugs in My Skin”, which is another progressive sounding psychedelic folk song. “Magic Walking Stick” takes on a bit more of a traditional folk approach, until the trippy vocals come in. “Squirmy Hermes: A Snail Tale”, written by Peter Rodenberg, offers a story from the perspective of a snail, with traditional folk music accompanying the lyrics to help tell the “Snail Tale”. All of this varying styling that has been mentioned is all within the first 6 songs, and there are still 9 which I haven’t even mentioned!
As one can tell, there is a great deal of creativity and stylistic variance which comprises John Clark’s “CiCaDiA” album. This album is fun, weird, trippy, and just simply enjoyable to listen to. You can’t help but feel enticed by the music, as listening to this album is more than just listening to an album, it truly is a unique experience. Don’t take my word for it, you need to give it a listen for yourself.

Kenny Fame is a singer-songwriter, lyricist, poet, activist, and performer. His stylistic ability to fuse poetry with music is a unique combination that is infectious and memorable. “Louise” is a prime example of this ability, as the rhythmic flow of Fame’s vocal delivery simply feels more poetic than most relative artists. The music brings forth an R&B vibe, while Fame’s vocals blend classic soul and neo-soul in a contemporary way.
The lyrics to this song may be what stands out the most, as the story told is one that will either be found as relatable, or will at least make you feel something. I cannot spoil this story in this review, as that would be unfair. This is a story that you truly need to listen to and allow yourself an opportunity to reflect and think on it. I will tell you that the story can be somewhat summarized as “from triumph of overcoming racial boundaries to tragic heartbreak”. Sounds like quite a hook, doesn’t it?
Every now and then you will come across a particular song or artist that transcends the concept of musical genres, reaching into a much deeper and much more meaningful subject matter. That is exactly what you get with Kenny Fame’s “Louise”.

Richard Lynch is an American Country Music artist which exemplifies exactly what listeners should be hearing when they play a “Country Music Station”. Lynch’s latest release Mending Fences is stacked from top to bottom with the elements that make REAL Country Music great. Great instrumentation, true to life lyrics, and a genuine soul-filled delivery.
Mending Fences kicks off with an absolutely stellar song called “Daddy’s Words”. This song hooked me from the very beginning because it has been seemingly forever since I’ve found a beautifully twangy Telecaster lick kicking off a rockin’ upbeat Country Song. With a feel-good upbeat electrified tone and lyrics that hit home delivered by Lynch’s deep voice, you have “the ultimate Country Song”.

Glyn Major is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Brisbane, Australia. Major’s latest single Read Between The Lines is an intuitive and thought provoking 3 song EP that is uplifting and mellow, inducing a chilled peaceful feeling.
The title single “Read Between The Lines” is a masterfully ambient approach to an acoustically driven song. A heavily reverberated intro that leads into a tight sounding verse is a sign of production and performance mastery. Unlike many songs that boast a singer-songwriter feel, this song features a strong use of dynamics to create varying soundscapes and feelings associated with varying parts of the song. “Read Between The Lines” is accompanied by a beautifully scenic music video which can be viewed here: (expired link)
Second comes a nice little instrumental piece that showcases Major’s talents on the Keyboard. Coming in at a little under 2:00, “One Day At A Time” serves as a teaser, leaving the listener desiring of more. The song has an incredible build throughout with very busy parts that add a nice feel of complexity and musicality to this piece.
The final song on the single entitled “Exist” is the darkest sounding recording on the EP. Featuring a nice guitar riff that is complimented by a wonderful rotary effect, this reviewer feels as though you will most enjoy this song through headphones. Not a lot of flash, and no filler, this song is bare bones and soul filled. This gives Major’s voice an opportunity to truly stand out, shine, and prove to be the driving force behind this song. This song is accompanied by a fantastically produced and though-provoking music video which can be viewed here:

Glyn Major is not only a very talented individual, but a busy one as well. A new song that was released on Christmas, “Face Without A Name” is an incredible song that offers great musicianship, and thought provoking lyrics. This song offers a very Led Zeppelin feel when you think about their acoustic songs. Powerful soaring vocals that are very reminiscent of Robert Plant and lead guitar parts that feature a tone similar to Jimmy Page with a technique that is very Ritchie Blackmore at times not only offers a refreshing new sound, but one that is nostalgic as well.
It doesn’t take long to discover that Glyn Majors is an incredibly talented individual. An artist’s artist is many regards. The best music is the music that is soul-filled and heart felt. Glyn Major delivers incredible music that touches the heart and fills the soul.

That Girl
Stephen Adkins
Stephen Adkins delivers a down-home soul-filled Country Love Ballad with the release of his newest single “That Girl”. As with any good Ballad, there is a story. In the case of “That Girl”, there is a beautifully relatable story of a girl that every guy who has ever fallen in love will connect with, and every girl wants to mean “that” to somebody.
Warm and subtle acoustic guitar and piano drive the majority of this song, with Adkins infectious warm voice complimenting the overall feel of this song. Perhaps the greatest facet of this song lies in the lyrics. A compilation of one-liner descriptions that gives you no choice but to visualize your own loved one.
Humbly echoing the artist’s influences such as Keith Urban and Blake Shelton, “That Girl” just sounds like something that is contemporary with what’s hot on today’s Country radio. In the modest opinion of this reviewer, I expect to hear “That Girl” on on various radio rotation’s in the very near future. What sets Country Music apart from other genres is excellent storytelling, and I look for Stephen Adkins to be one of America’s next great storytellers.

Song: And I Told Her So
Artist: Rhett Repko
“And I Told Her So” is a single from Rhett Repko off the EP entitled Thx For The Ride. A killer groove, shimmering guitar, excellent drumming, and mellow vocals makes this song one of the smoothest rock tunes of recent memory. A raw and odd combination of the stripped down songwriting reminiscent of The Beatles with a little drive like Nirvana and a hint of Maroon 5 thrown in for good measure.
What is nice about an artist like Rhett Repko is that the main focus of the music is the song itself and the performance from the individual band members meshing into one cohesive unit. There isn’t any shiny polished production on this record, just like the beloved records that are now deemed as classic. A raw performance with a good level of musicianship and catchy factor make “And I Told Her So” a must-hear. This is real music from real musicians playing real instruments derived from real talent.

Shine On (You)
Jo Oliver
Nothing lends itself to musical virtuosity quite like a “one man band”. With this debut single from Jo Oliver, that is exactly what is delivered. On this track, Oliver plays Guitar, Bass, Drums, and Keyboards. As if that isn’t enough, he also sings Lead and Background harmony vocals. Take all of these elements and know that the challenge of doing an entire song by oneself is no small feat, then add the factor that the song is actually very good, and you can’t help but be impressed.
Shine On (You) kicks off with a great sounding vocal harmony that leads into a fantastic and satisfying heavy big riff. The verses are very cool and mellow, semi-reminiscent of an overall Pink Floyd vibe. A very David Gilmour inspired rhythmic guitar approach with a vocal delivery that feels much like Roger Waters pushes the verses. The chorus is incredibly infectious, driven by a harmony that hooks the ear with a near Queen feel.
Jo Oliver has already seen great success with “Shine On (You)”. Oliver is currently ranked #7 on (expired link)’s “Top Soul Rock Bands” as of this writing. He has hit Number 1 on the Amazon Germany Download-Charts. The success is no joke. “Shine On (You)” is easy listening, soul-filled rock music.
