About Brandon Hixson
Brandon Hixson is a music minister, songwriter, saxophonist, music engineer and producer from Ennis, Texas. He serves as the Worship Pastor at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Ennis Texas where he and his wife Karen and their two children, Caleb and Caylin all reside. He has been actively involved in music for over 15 years. Brandon graduated from East Texas Baptist University with a degree in All-Level Music Education in 2001. He is currently working on his Master’s Degree in Worship Leadership from Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, Texas.
Brandon has been able to achieve a lot of his musical ambitions. He has played all styles of music from Rock to Country - from Southern Gospel to Jazz. Brandon has shared the stage with Love and The Outcome, Anthony Evans, Jason Castro, Third Day, Holly Starr and Mercy Me.
Brandon has been the lead vocalist and sax player for the Christian outfits, Godfueled, Splendorleaf and Racing Gravity since 2000. He has written and produced 10 albums between 2003 and 2016. The Christian Radio and Retail Weekly selected six of Brandon’s compositions as singles. His second single, “What’s In This Love” charted at #5 in April 2008 and became the 13th most played independent single for the year on Christian Radio. Brandon was nominated as “Male-Vocalist of the Year” in 2006 and in 2007 for the prestigious Momentum Awards in Nashville, Tennessee. His band, Godfueled, was nominated as “Worship Artist of the Year” in 2006. His single, “Prayer of Wings” received “Song of the Year” nominations for the Momentum Awards in 2007. The single was also an international Top 20 Single according to the International Association of Independent Recording Artists in 2009. His 2010 single, “Only by His Grace” was selected by the Texas Christian Songwriters Association as one of the ten best compositions for 2010. The song also charted at #111 on the iTunes Charts for being one of the most downloaded Christian Singles in the fall of 2010. The song is currently featured in the film, “One Church” starring former prisoner of war, Jessica Lynch. Brandon released "The Joy Never Fades" in 2015. Brandon's newest release, "Picture of You" was released in the fall of 2016. The single, “Take The First Step” will be the theme to an up-coming Christian film. Hixson is the recipient of numerous awards including two Akademia Awards. Brandon's 2017 album, "Here Is My Heart" was nominated by The Independent Music Awards for Best Contemporary Christian Album.
