About Brazz
Brazz's Bio: Born in Washington,(expired link)., I was exposed to a lot of music by my father who had stacks of R&B, Funk, Jazz and Soul albums. I got my first bass guitar when I was 15 and two years later formed a "Go Go" band called "Members Only". When that band broke up, I tried to form several R&B groups and began writing original songs. During my songwriter/producer years, I got away from my bass for a while. Then I started getting into Stanley Clarke and Marcus Miller which made me realize my true calling. I currently reside in Clinton, MD where I am honing my skills as a bass player, singer and songwriter. My first and most influential bass experience growing up was watching Mike "Funky Ned" Neil in the group called Rare Essence. That is what really inspired me to play. I
have recorded two contemporary jazz cds with my childhood buddy, drummer Tony McGhee. The first one was released in ’07 called “Who Is Tony McGhee Feat. Brazz” and the follow up in ’09 was “The Jazzy Side Of Smooth”. I did most of the vocals on both cds which inspired me to attempt my own R&B/Neo Soul project and eventually expand as an artist and songwriter.
