About Breaking Even

Breaking Even, a local Pop Punk band from Staten Island, New York was formed by frontman LJ Goity in August 2010, along with former bassist Bobby Ursini. After a series of band member changes, the ban Breaking Even was originally started by lead vocalist and guitarist LJ Goity and the band's original bassist Bobby Ursini. After they recruited Nick Cardona from Through The Year on drums and LJ's neighbor and long time friend Frank Cintula on guitar, they started to play shows. Shortly after, they were struck with their first of many line up changes. The bands bassist Bobby Ursini had decided to leave the group to follow other personal interests. Chris Murphy quickly settled in as the band's new bassist and backing vocalist after being asked by Nick Cardona. The group remained strong with this line up for several months playing shows and writing new material, but soon enough the band was faced with another tragedy: the band's energetic drummer, Nick Cardona, was leaving. Now in a panic the band quickly searched through drummers until they settled with Brandon Roman. Nor Omar was also recruited into the band on guitar shortly after and LJ was moved to only lead vocals. This line up proved to be as rough-edged as the previous ones for it only lasted a few short weeks.
