About Brena

Brena is a five piece rock group based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan whose current lineup formed early 2008. They just released their debut 7 track (expired link). titled "Wait 'til Word Gets Around\&quot Brena is from Grand Rapids, MI. We are a 5 piece rock/alternative band.

The band formed in 2006 when 2 well known west Michigan bands decided to part ways (Broken Sunday and Smoody). The current line-up was completed in Feb. of 2008 when Jeff joined on the drums. We couple an enjoyable and accessible rock show with dynamic song writing, a tight rhythm section, and engaging harmonies. We love 3 part harmonies, playing loud, and having fun with the crowd.

Past performing credits include the Intersection (Grand Rapids), the Underground Lounge (Chicago), and the Whiskey Lounge (Grand Rapids) to name a few... We've opened for such national headliners as Run Run Run, Luna Halo, Calamity Magnet, and Rains. We were recently 2008 finalists in the 'Road to Rothbury' contest hosted by 96.1 and the Double JJ Ranch; we have also been featured and played on 102.7 WMOM in Ludington, MI and 89.1 WIDR in Kalamazoo, MI.

We just recorded our first EP in August at Studiotte in Grand Rapids, MI. We are starting to plan a CD release party sometime soon. The 7 track EP is titled 'Wait 'til Word Gets Around'.
