About Brian C Rice
A long but enjoyable road of learning. Started as a kid with my brother playing Irish traditional music. Moved onto drums as my brother took up the electric guitar and we formed s few bands, one of which was reasonably successful. Fronted by the very talented, Clive Moorhead. We moved to London and took on the band name, The Deceivers. After a number of years we parted amicably. Paul, my brother, and I kept at the music having moved to Edinburgh. My brother wrote the material and I contributed percussion and some vocals. Later Clive and I worked onhis material, signing a few publishing deals and garnering interest in a few of his songs; Rachel Panay. Who recorded a very catchy pop dance track called, Edge Of Love.
Clive and I parted ways and I gtook to writing pop material intended for other artist to perform. Had moderate interest. Amy Diamond earmarked a song as a potential for her Swings And Roundabouts album. The song was dropped finally when the lyrics didn't fit for profile purpose.
I finally began to write material that was more in keeping with my personality and likes when Covid gave me time to reflect. The upshot and results are partially on this site. I do write instrumental stuff, as well, but haven't added these to the site. Not really in keeping with the sound on the page/site. I keep writing (obviously) and have started to introduce some art as an integral part of the songs and projects.
I hope you all keep enjoying the songs. I keep me motivated. Though I'd still do it without the support and acknowledement, your feedback and encouragement is truly appreciated.
