About Brian

Brian James was born in a cave in the mountains 700 years ago. His
mother was a simple peasant girl and his father was, at that time, King of the mer-people. Shortly after he was born, his father was betrayed and murdered by his closest and most trusted advisor. Brian spent centuries underwater searching for briny vengeance. I won't bore you with the details of his quest, but I will say that justice was served and that it involved hand to hand combat with a Kraken. After he avenged his father, Brian's
life felt pretty aimless so he became a musician.

Brian James has been a professional musician and songwriter in Winnipeg for 17 years, playing anything from indie rock to country music. He has credits on dozens of records, including some Western Canadian Music and Juno award winners. Some of Brian's favourite gigs have been being a Rock Star at Quinzy and Brian James & the Tigers and the audacious Ode to Beck Tribute, Live Music Yoga, Music Director at an Anglican Church, running a School of Rock style music drop-in for kids in Winnipeg's inner city, producing and recording guitars for some of Winnipeg’s best artists and Christmas. Active on the mat, in venues across the city and in the studio, Brian loves producing music with a spiritual and community focus.
