About Brite-VU

Brite-VU is a dynamic four piece rock band hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, bringing deep melodic tones with their combination of strong vocal rhythms, driving choruses and expansive sonic landscapes. Since debuting in 2008, the band has been a fixture of the Halifax live scene and received great acclaim for their undeniable passion and tenacity.

Their first full length album ‘Time Intertwined’ was released in March 2010 which featured their first single, "Crash" which hit the radio waves nationally and landed 13 weeks on the East Coast Countdown. Off the heels of “Crash” the band regrouped and released a music video for the cinematic "Speechless" which eventually reached the Semi-Finals of the 2013 International Songwriting Competition.

Following the success of ‘Time Intertwined’ the group hit the live scene touring the Maritimes extensively. By the end of the year the band was hard at work on their follow-up ‘Restarted’ which saw the band reinvigorated with a new lineup and a more sonically diverse sound emerging. The album released in late 2011 and the first single ‘Restarted’ was released nationally to radio reaching the Top 40 in the Active Rock charts. The group capped 2011 with a main stage Nova Scotia Music Week showcase in Yarmouth, NS and an appearance playing across the city of Halifax on the Live 105 float for 16th Annual Chronicle Herald Parade of Lights. Going into 2012 the title track along with the crowd favorites ‘Never Look Back’, ‘Electric Avenue’ and ‘One Foot’ became part of the Halifax Mooseheads’ 2012 playoff soundtrack as part of Eastlink’s Energized series. Brite-VU also made two appearances on as musical guests on CTV Morning Live that summer performing 'Electric Avenue' and 'Never Look Back'.

Always looking forward the band forged on through the next year hitting the live scene and self-producing music videos for three of the album’s most popular tracks. Behind the scenes the band had begun experimenting with new arrangements and textures for their constantly evolving sound. In early 2014, the quartet recorded their most musically diverse three tracks to date with plans for multimedia release in the coming months.
