Beautiful Song
"Picture of Jesus", by Brother gene is a beautiful song with a beautiful story and a nice feel. We need more songs of faith in this world and this is one to share. When the chorus kicks in with the harmonies, it sounds like a church choir in a little country church singing.

Nice song with a good feel. The rythmical played acoustic guitar carries the recording well. The songtext comes from the heart and touches the soul. Good performance with soft and unique vocals. The intro sounds like a story and I was really drawn in by the christian content. With better recording and mixing the song could sound much more delightful. The song doesn´t strike me as finished product but even so a good job and great talent.

I Like It
Today, music can miss the mark when one doesn't focus on all the inputs necessary to produce a quality song. The music, arrangement, lyrics, vocal delivery, and content are critical in producing a sound that moves the listener. Brother Gene has achieved this goal. I recommend that anyone interested in quality, positive music that moves your soul listen to this release.

Portrait of Jesus
story telling is great in song, I like the simplicity strum of the guitar and the voice of sincerity when you go into the refrain your voice buzzes and is a notch to high over the harmonies. which needs just a bit of careful mixing. heartfelt song with great gospel content. I wondered if you added instruments whether a violin or bass may have thickened/added to it. still thanks for sharing

Song review
There is a way to take the oxygen out of the track and still have a live feeling….singers have to buy mics over 500 just to find quality to support vocal range…..this kinda content is great for film

A GREAT COUNTRY TRACK
Good evening Brother Gene from Belfast and thank you for the invite to review your Country Gospel song "PICTURE OF JESUS" which i found in my opinion to be a very good Country song with a strong Christian message which was well performed and recorded,i loved the vocals in the way you told the story with a nice sweet melody, the only thing that i feel could be changed is the sound level which could be a touch higher other than that it is a very good composition, keep it country keep it Gospel.

you can defenitely transmit your feelings
Hi Brother Gene! I remember the last song I've reviewed from you. Even if I cannot connect too much with the words (because I am not religious) I can defenitely connect with your soul and listening to you singing about your faith is actually a pleasure. You have a very nice timber and I appreciate in particular the way you talk. I think I like this song better than the other one I reviewed last time. I'll say again that you are able to transmit all the love you feel for God :) Greetings from Italy

Let me begin by letting you know how I will be addressing your song. I review from a commercial standpoint…..which is to say how would your composition fair if you were trying to place your song with a publishing firm? The other alternative would be you as artist. If that were the case then one either likes or dislikes what you have produced. That is not my agenda as I stated earlier. This is a nice start of a story song. Good imagery and the prosody works well. Good job. If it were me I might look at the arrangement. The first verse is fine as is. I would consider cutting the second verse in half ....thereby getting back to the chorus faster. Another possibility might be a new bridge section which would break up the repetition of the verse / chorus sections and keep the listener involved. There is a great resource available if you want it and....it's free....Listen to how your favorite artists approach arrangements and sections of a song. Notice how they keep interest by slightly varying sections and pace of delivery in their song. Again...Good start.......Keep Writing! RW

In My Opinion
Greetings, Thank you for choosing me to review your work, I count it an honor to be included in such a task. My hat is off to you and anyone willing to step out and share their gift, talent and love of music to the public. Be it a musician, singer, song writer, actor and so-on. I myself, via 40 some years of experience in the fields, on the road, in the studio, radio, TV, video, and management, consider myself to be a seasoned musician, singer, song writer, studio-sound tech/engineer/ owner/operator, stage manager, find it sometimes hard/difficult and perhaps not even fair to sit in a seat, voicing My Opinion concerning another's creative efforts. Especially in certain genres of music I am not all that familiar with concerning very important elements that make up and meet the required standards to justify the various levels of ratings and grades. So, in saying ALL that, I will limit myself to MY Opinion concerning the quality of the work according to My ears, and the standards I have been familiarized with thru-out the years. I hold to the old - saying " Beauty Is In The EAR of The Beholder ... LOL. The sound quality of the recording over-all is very crisp and bright and clear, Consider backing off the processing on your vocals a little , not singing in a tunnel, more natural sound, but, not dry and flat either. I really enjoyed the message in this song. This is a great song for a fiddle and or a steel guitar to be in the background. Think about a music solo break to step away from vocals for a short period in future works. Vocals are smooth and natural, sort of - down to earth as they say, and extremely peaceful. The mix levels let me know who was still in charge of this song. Very easy to sit back and listen to. I mean no offense in any part, I myself take all feedback and use it as a tool toward my next project. I pray you feel the same way. Either way, I say to you, keep doing what you do, keep kicking and enjoying what you do. I tell folks all the time for many years. When it stops being FUN, then it's time to stop, and stand back and think about what we are doing, why we are doing it, how we are doing it, what we and others are getting out it. Is it what we want, and how we want it. IF NOT. what are willing to do from there? Thank you again for asking MY OPINION. Johnny

Picture of Jesus
Picture of Jesus by Brother Gene. This is a sweet old time style ballad .A sentimental gentle song with heartfelt lyrics and with a deeply held spiritual message. Brother Gene speaks softly through the verses and that leads on to the chorus which is sung well with emotion and some harmonious backing adding to the whole message and the story of the song. A great song reminiscent of a much gentler time now sadly gone.I can imagine Brother Gene standing at the Grand ol opry or the Ryman theatre performing this to a packed house and I am sure his Mother would be proud of him and this song.

Original song
This song is one of the most original listened here, it seems a religious ballad, with soft atmospheres, but the voice is fast rock. I think that this song is a contemporary religious sound.
