Sweet

A very good afternoon to you Brother Gene from Belfast and many thanks for the chance to review your Gospel Song "LORD HELP ME JESUS" which i found in my music opinion to be a good song with nice lyrics and good melody,i do however feel you could improve on the Production and Recording of this Gospel Composition and the volume would need to increase a lot as i could hardly hear some of the words,if you went back into the studio and tidy it up you would have a great track here my friend.

Nice tune. This song has a great simplicity and tenderness. The arrangement is also simple, overall it’s calming. I can feel that the lyrics and vocal delivery cones from your heart. With so many recording and production tools available, and with the bar set high in the public music domain, I’d like to see you take this to the next level. I also am a solo artist, but I’ve found musicians that “get” my music and style to compliment my tunes. I play keyboard, and have discovered bass players, guitarists and drummers. You might keep an eye out for a keyboard player to add more texture and depth to your music. There is a balance between authentic singing, which you clearly have, and Ready for Air music, which accentuates your strengths and can polish over some weak spots. I think that Autotune or Melodyne could improve the pitch of your voice in places, without losing the spirit of your delivery. Hope this helps and that it finds you well. Keep writing and capturing your personal experience in authentic song.

A felt song

Hi Brother Gene :) What I am going to judge here is the heart, because even if you are not always on tune (it's not annoying though, maybe only when you make the upper scales it's a bit too imprecise), what I perceive from the first notes is that you do feel what you are singing. I have always thought that you can learn tecnique but you cannot learn how to "feel". Greetings from Italy, stay safe!

Sorry to say...it's a bit sleepy this one.. Good voice though but I don't think I'll be buying the song..maybe if you speed it up a bit. The production is not the best I have heard but maybe that's just the musical style

Nice!

I like the production sound and the vibe of the track along with the originality. I can feel the heart in this showing you put in some dedicated work on the art. I like the drums and guitar! I can dig it!!! Sounds like the studio vibe was awesome . More artist should study the roots of their culture of art more to be better at their own art. Keep up the good work and stay in the lab creating new material to stay fresh and on your toes. If you're ever looking for a hip hop collaboration hit me up I'm versatile. Peace!

We finally had our party yesterday and your CDs were a big hit. Amazing talent. It is so nice to have children’s songs that bear endless repetition!” ~Paul ~”This album comes alive with real fun for everyone just like today’s kids movies but even better!” ~Herbert ~”This is definitely an album the kids will go wild for and to make it better, it’s an album that won’t drive their parents to distraction when the songs are played on repeat.”

Great Title.

Gospel has always gone straight to me heart, and this track does to, but I feel the singer here should have a bit more confidence in his good voice and let the vocal be more up front. He's not breathing enough and the lack of air is letting his voice go flat in a few spots. But his voice is good and his intentions are good as well. Good song.

A few comments and suggestions

Vocal sounds good with guitar and harmonica accompaniment. Nice and laid back. Just a few questions on vocals; a few areas need tuning, so an autotune plug in would help to enhance your vocal track. Also, some consonants need to be worked on because they are a little hard. I'm "diggin'" the nice timbre and tone of the male baritone vocals. A few noises during the silent parts of the vocal track, it would be nice to address them so that they will not distract from the mix. Overall, your mix sounds pretty good. Nice and acoustic, not too many effects. I hope that the comments and suggestions help. Congratulations on your track. Blessings. José René

A Sincere Heart

Personally I think this is a beautiful song with a sincere message from a sincere heart! It could be embellish a little more. I wonder how it would sound and how much more satisfying it would be with a female voice? Maybe the likes of a voice like Kelly Clarkson or maybe someone like Dolly Parton who has a country in which some flavor that could really turn this gospel song into a standard and would remain on the Billboard charts 4 years.

Lord Help Me Jesus review

No matter what, religious songs are a very personal effort by the writer and there are no bad ones when it is. The best advice I could give you would be to work more on the vocals and try hitting the notes on the verses. The chorus is obviously easier for you to sing and you're able to sing that better. Perhaps the song needs to be in a different key for your vocals? I really like the chorus and feel you have a good song here. It simply needs to be done professionally. I would suggest reaching out to members of your church that may be able to help with the recording or spend a little money and have it done in a good studio.

In MY Opinion

Greetings, Thank you for choosing me to review your work, I count it an honor to be included in such a task. My hat is off to you and anyone willing to step out and share their gift, talent and love of music to the public. Be it a musician, singer, song writer, actor and so-on. I myself, via 40 some years of experience in the fields, on the road, in the studio, radio, TV, video, and management, consider myself to be a seasoned musician, singer, song writer, studio-sound tech/engineer/ owner/operator, stage manager, find it sometimes hard/difficult and perhaps not even fair to sit in a seat, voicing My Opinion concerning another's creative efforts. Especially in certain genres of music I am not all that familiar with concerning very important elements that make up and meet the required standards to justify the various levels of ratings and grades. So, in saying ALL that, I will limit myself to MY Opinion concerning the quality of the work according to My ears, and the standards I have been familiarized with thru-out the years. I hold to the old - saying " Beauty Is In The EAR of The Beholder ... LOL. The sound quality of the recording over-all is very crisp and bright and clear, Consider adding a touch of processing on your vocals a little , not singing in a tunnel, more natural sound, but, not dry and flat either. I really enjoyed the message in this song.Think about a music solo break to step away from vocals for a short period in future works. Vocals are smooth and natural, sort of - down to earth as they say, and extremely peaceful. The mix levels let me know who was still in charge of this song. Very easy to sit back and listen to. I mean no offense in any part, I myself take all feedback and use it as a tool toward my next project. I pray you feel the same way. Either way, I say to you, keep doing what you do, keep kicking and enjoying what you do. I tell folks all the time for many years. When it stops being FUN, then it's time to stop, and stand back and think about what we are doing, why we are doing it, how we are doing it, what we and others are getting out it. Is it what we want, and how we want it. IF NOT. what are willing to do from there? Thank you again for asking MY OPINION. Johnny

Acoustic based Song

Sometimes a guitar is enough for an engaging song. Brother Gene has a great talent to give an account in words about his believe, including all relevant characteristics and qualities. The lyrics are impressive and the words come from the soul. Soft chords on the acoustic-guitar carry the recording pretty well. It´s a quintessence of country and christian music style. This song is an original and it´s worth to add it. Let others know your recommedation.

Soft gospel

This song is an interesting mix of different kinds of music, from the melodic ballads to the gospel. I like that the voice is slow and with a piano begin, there's fast an unplugged version.

Italy, Monfalcone, Trieste

Free style

This free style is what i call a right now praise or the cry of right now...and there is a certain amount of respect i have for that....even so some of the lyrics sound accidental and not purposed...keep going
