About Bruce Taylor Band
A little bit about my band. Rob and Glen both were in a couple bands together. "Deepender" was one band and "Liquid Currency" was another one. It's a little funny sometimes when I think about these bands they were in. They are so different than what we do together as a band. I could not have the freedom to do what I do without them. We have had to kind of figure it out as we went along.
Rob Wilcox-Drums and Percussion
Rob also plays bass and guitar very well. He plays with his churches worship team on those various instruments. Over the course of time with our bands evolution I think his drum kit keeps growing, lol. He won't tell you he is great on any of them, but I beg to differ. He's pretty good on all of them. For me he plays drums. He lays down the groove, always keeps the beat, and is sure to always keep everything real. He's always got a good poke to keep you laughing.
Glen Ballew-Bass, Vocals, Production Engineer
Glen plays bass for me and does vocals as well. When you see us live you will see him sing Lead also. Glen is a multi instrumentalist. He is very proficient on guitar, piano, drums, and he is a better singer than I am in my mind.
As far as being Engineer/Producer these songs and this band would not sound the same without him. On his producer side, he gets me to play things I wouldn't normally ever think that I would play. Sometimes he gets me to play/think outside my comfort zone. It always seems to turn out better than it was. The Engineer side of Glen is always meticulous man striving for perfection.
We have had a bit of a journey together. Fortunately we are friends as well as band-mates. We started out with Rob, Glen, and myself. At one point we added another guitar player and a keyboard player. Due to other obligations we ended up just as we started, 3 piece. How strange it is, the way things work out sometimes. We have come to embrace that is how it needed to be anyway. It makes things just plain, Simple.
My music isn't complicated or fake. Some of my songs are serious or telling you a story about my life/experiences. I know some of them are just about having fun. Some are messages that we all need to remember. I'm just one more fool out there trying to connect people with something they can emotionally relate to through music. I think that is something we all want from our music we listen to daily.
