can7say, the German synth-pop project, was founded in 1995 by Oliver Weber and Frank Hunold in Wuppertal. Even before can7say was founded, both were active in various bands and gained their first experience in the music scene. Olly Weber in particular developed a deep connection to independent music during this time.

can7say signed a record deal with JERO Records in the same year they were founded. The single ‘Underneath the Appletree’ was released in 1995, followed by the album ‘Walking in Dreamland’ in 1996. The releases were accompanied by a tour of Germany, which took the duo to various TV shows. After this successful phase, Oliver Weber and Frank Hunold parted ways in 1997.

Originally from Remscheid, Oliver Weber decided to continue the can7say project. Without a record deal, he continued to develop the sound of can7say. His passion for catchy pop melodies and electronic elements, paired with his roots in independent music, created a unique mix of experimental and more commercial sounds.

In 2023, Oliver Weber released the album ‘The Sound of my Soul’ with can7say. Various tracks from this album such as ‘Why’, ‘Dust’ and ‘Walk with Me’ were released digitally and quickly found favour with listeners. In 2024, can7say continued their success with the tracks ‘The Same’ and ‘We Are’, which were played on numerous internet radio stations and music portals.
