About Carlo Chapelle

Born in Manila, Philippines, Carlo started singing at the early age of 4! During his early teen years, he sang with a premiere church choir named "People, Precious and Few Choir" ((expired link)). His musicianship got honed with all the performances and workshops that he had to partake in during his tenure with that choir.
In 1991, Carlo and his whole family immigrated to the USA.

Carlo attended Columbia College Chicago and majored in Vocal Performance. Carlo got his fair share of singing opportunities by joining the college's highly selective Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Carlo was coached by one of Chicago's best jazz vocalists and musical theatre performers Bobbi Wilsyn, just to name a few.

In the year 2002, Carlo started singing in various nightclubs in town such as The Gentry On Rush Street, The Cotton Club Chicago, Bailiwick Repertory Theater, Davenport’s Piano Bar and the likes.

It was in 2006 when he got to meet Ralph Lampkin Jr., chairman of the independent record label LMG Pop (Lampkin Music Group) during one of his nightclub appearances, Mr. Lampkin right there and then signed him up to a recording contract as well as talent management.

In 2007, Carlo started working on his debut recording.

November 2009 saw the release of Carlo's debut album called "Shade of Blue" via a one man show at Davenport's Piano Bar in Wicker Park, Chicago.

In February of 2010, “Please Don’t Ask Me”, a track from that cd reached #37 in Australia’s ITunes Radio Charts (Jazz ). His album “Shade of Blue” is still doing well and is now available on various digital music outlets such as AMAZON (expired link) , ITUNES (expired link) , SPOTIFY (expired link) , CD BABY (expired link) and GOOGLE PLAY (expired link).

In 2014, Carlo represented Team USA at the World Championships of Performing Arts for the Jazz and Adult Contemporary division. Later that year (Fall 2014), Carlo made his New York debut with a successful one man show held at “Don’t Tell Mamas” (a legendary Cabaret place where Barbra Streisand, Liza Minnelli and the likes once performed at).

His May 25th 2018 show “Together Again: Carlo Chapelle Live With Beckie Menzie” held at Davenport’s Piano Bar in Wicker Park, Chicago, was reviewed favorably by esteemed Cabaret critic Miss Carla Gordon (expired link). Incidentally, another world renowned Jazz recording artist Miss Kevin Lettau opined that Carlo “has the voice of an angel” (expired link).

One of his recordings on this site “On A Bus To St. Cloud” has been trending consistently of late.

Also, his album “Shade of Blue” are now available in PANDORA, SPOTIFY, SHAZAM and all other popular digital music platforms out there.

Carlo Chapelle is currently doing gigs all over Chicagoland with his new band “The Carlo Chapelle Jazz Fusion”. His band gigs regularly at Annie’s Pancake House and Restaurant and Davenport’s Piano Bar. He is also working on his follow up album of almost all original materials and will soon put up a go fund me page for this newest music project.
