Humble Gratitude
Hello everyone!
Wow! I can't believe the response that these songs have received. I am absolutely humbled. Last week I added two new songs to the play list; "Ten/25" and "I Promise Pinocchio." Along with "Crown," these songs are the most personal to me as they all deal with people in my life who are very close to me. "Crown" is a song dedicated to my sister's journey in finding true love and happiness, which she has. "Ten/25" is a song for my firstborn son as I awaited his arrival. "I Promise Pinocchio" is a song about the miscarriage of our first child. We have had four more miscarriages since, but three perfectly healthy children as well. "Pinocchio" is a song dedicated to the memories of each of those children we lost. I am confident that I will dance with each one of them when we finally meet in eternity. These are tough songs for me to share with the world, for obvious reasons, yet I felt that I had to. Now, seeing the response, I am glad that I did. I hope that you all find comfort in these songs and that they speak to you in some way. I can't thank you enough for listening to my songs and sharing your thoughts. Please feel free to email me and let me know what these songs mean to you.
I would like to let you know that the other six songs from the StillQuietFierce album can be found on my Reverbnation site, here: http://www.reverbnation.com/caster9
These 9 songs (in total) are dear to me and some of the most cherished things in my life. They all deal with the triumphs and struggles I have faced in my life, marriage, love, and faith. It would be foolish of me not to mention that my faith in Jesus Christ is the catalyst of hope in all of these songs. He deserves all the credit.
Song story: "Zero Oxygen"
Probably the darkest song I've written "Zero Oxygen" is a song about my dealings with sin and the devil. Satan is an elusive and cunning enemy. If we are not ready and anticipating his attempts to lead us away from truth we will surely end up in his sick hands. The music is written in a minor key and the background vocal chanting is haunting. Though the song is dark it does end on a major chord which represents the first inhale of true, eternal life. I have yet to take that breath, but I know when I do it will be the first in an eternity without the weight of sin.
If you would like to know the meaning or reason behind any of these songs, please let me know. I will try to share the story of one or two each time I send a letter out. In the meantime, please keep listening. Be well and treat each other with kindness. Thank you!
