One of the things I enjoy most about Number One Music artists is the newfound ability to hear music from around the world by singers who I'd never have the chance to listen to otherwise. That, in itself, is a great thing. Here, with this song which reflects back to the songs of the late 50's and early 60's, Cathy's voice is pure, clear and sparkling brights. I don't understand French, but here, you simply need to sit back and relax and enjoy a brilliant production which is well mixed, levels sound great and the professional effort to create this gem is not lost on our ears. I love love love your voice and this classic low tune that appears to be a love tune, you are really eloquent with your melody and you complement the musical very well, I can slow Dane to this track all night under the moonlight at the beach with a bottle of the best red wine I can find, again music breaks all barriers so despite not understanding the words to the song the music grabs me in a loving way

I myself, via 40 some years of experience in the fields, on the road, in the studio, radio, TV, video, and management, consider myself to be a seasoned musician, singer, song writer, studio-sound tech/engineer/ owner/operator, stage manager, find it sometimes hard/difficult and perhaps not even fair to sit in a seat, voicing My Opinion concerning another's creative efforts. Especially in certain genres of music I am not all that familiar with concerning very important elements that make up and meet the required standards to justify the various levels of ratings and grades. So, in saying ALL that, I will limit myself to MY Opinion concerning the quality of the work according to My ears, and the standards I have been familiarized with thru-out the years. I hold to the old - saying " Beauty Is In The EAR of The Beholder ... LOL. The sound quality of the recording over-all is very crisp and bright and clear, I really enjoyed the message, backing music, emotion and energy in this song.I liked it all ...Congrats on a wonderful work.Think about a music solo break to step away from vocals for a short period in future works. Vocals are smooth and natural, sort of - down to earth as they say, and extremely peaceful. The mix levels let me know who was still in charge of this song. Very easy to sit back and listen to. Les voix sont produites proprement et bien présentées, le contenu des voix a une finition fraîche et bien prononcée et l'histoire générale des voix est polie à un point tel que c'est la plus grande caractéristique du modèle de production, mais la musique d'accompagnement est sérieusement manquant de lustre, il a des ressemblances avec les productions Hammond du passé avec un rythme plat quelque peu préenregistré et continu qui met peu l'accent sur un modèle de production moderne, donc si vous aimez les productions de la vieille école, cela a ces essences, mais personnellement, j'aimerais entendre ce chanteur sur une compilation entièrement personnalisée car l'artiste a beaucoup à offrir en termes de voix et dans l'ensemble, une présentation vocale très sympathique et présentable, qui vaut donc une audition dans tous les cas, donc je dis apprécier cette pièce pour la voix de l'artiste

Agood produced chanson (what I understand as chanson)in 12/8. France is known as a cultural hotbed and nothing reveals this more than the growth of the particularly French musical tradition of the chanson. And this recording fullfillsall expectations I have to 'French chanson.Absolutely radio friendly produced.

Cathy Varna LES CHOSES DE LA VIE. OK so Varna "LES CHOSES DE LA VIE" translates into "the things of life." But perhaps it should translate into ready for French Radio on a large scale. If people are wondering what are the better songs that end up in my review list well here is an example. It's obvious that Cathy has been pro for awhile and the production and quality do not dissapoint. At 3 minutes long it is clear that the song is aimed at radio play. I have no clue as to what she is saying however. Have a listen.

Just another wonderful release from Cathy Varna grabbed me right from the start! The intro feels like a story and the refrain makes the meaning of the song engaging for me. The lyrics come from the heart and touching the soul, but the whole composition is more various. The music starts softly with harmonical melodies and Cathy sings with her unique voice and brings a distinctive feeling into the song. The chorus is impressive and accentuated key-sounds bringing more interest into the tune. The added bass-lines are also some special in this arrangment. This is definitely a professional composition, very good mixed and mastered. A song about love and life and the development of events beyond personal control. Overall a really sophisticated ballad and I´m sure, you will likewise add. Let others know your recommendation.

Nice rhythm and instrumentation, Cathy, it reminds me of hit pop / easy-listening songs from 1970's and 1980's. The drums and bass sound a little bit too synthetic, and the vocals sometimes seem to hesitate at the end of some words, but overall the song is very pleasant to listen to.
