Latest Song Info: Charity of a Smile
As an artiste, I am constantly thinking about how I can be a 'ray of hope' in the pandemic darkness that shrouds this world. It has not been an easy year for many of us, and with the protocols that must be adhered, artistes in my country have not had a proper opportunity since 2019 to perform before a live audience. Thank God for online platforms such as Zoom and Facebook that have helped to soothe the sting that accompanies the lack of live performances. We have also had the opportunity - once finance could be procured - to record songs for our listeners. Therefore, it has not been a totally crippling year for the industry.
As a result, I have vowed I cannot let the year pass without releasing something for my fans. You see, Christmas is the MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR for me, so I cannot allow Covid-19 to steal this from me, from us. Hence, tomorrow, December 5th, 2021 at 8 pm, I will be releasing a music video for my song entitled 'Charity of a Smile' that I had recorded since December 2017. I was always waiting for the right time to create a video for this song, and with all that we have gone through as a people, I believe that the time is now!
'Charity of a Smile' encourages us to do simple things to make the lives of others lavish. Based loosely on the biblical story found in Acts 4, which involved Peter, John, and the lame man who sat at the temple gate, the song speaks about giving what you have - as simple or as little as it be - to those who are less fortunate - specifically the children.
The pandemic has not only hit us mentally and physically, but also spiritually. Nevertheless, even though you may not be able to give money or luxurious presents this year, the charity or gift of a smile (or hug) can be just as memorable as money or lavish presents. Hence, we have no excuse. We can do something - even if it is small - to make the lives of those around us better. If it is one thing that Covid-19 has taught me, it is that life is too short to waste nursing grudges, bitterness, unforgiveness or emnity. So, let's vaccinate against negativity this season and infect all around us with the joy of Christmas via the 'Charity of a Smile'.
