Foolish man.

Overall, I liked this song. I feel it needs a few more instruments, ie: Harmonica, drums, violin/fiddle. Just a few suggestions. I also feel it needs added in the Blues category. It gives the listener a sad, melancholy feeling. Nice job. Keep writing.

Foolish Man Review

Foolish man has an interesting chord progression set up. It clearly establishes and portrays a place of passion in the artist. However, it has a lot of room for development. I can hear live orchestrations with shaker percussion and tight harmonies in a better production. Lots of potential. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this piece. Keep it up Chaser!

You've got a good voice, you play the guitar fairly well on this song. As far as the song being commercial at this point, I think you may need a more fuller sound. It's a hard road to pave, this songwriting business. The lyrics are good, my opinion. Good luck with this song...

I am sorry for your loss

I can definitely hear the pain in your music--obviously a result of your sisters tragic death. I encourage you to continue with your music. Music is magical. It can span distances and help bridge separations while healing wounds and heartache. Perhaps somebody will hear this song and realize they are not the only one out there to feel sadness. It is an exhilarating feeling have the epiphany that you are not alone in your pain and loss. I pray that though the days and months and years to come, God will both help ease the vacancy you are feeling from your loss and allow your music to reach others in need.

Sweet Chords

Chaser certainly knows his way around the guitar choosing some very sweet chord sounds that form the foundation to this song. The song itself is perfectly melancholy with a sweet melody & hook. Very pleasant.

I hear a female vocalist behind you in this song. It would strengthen your vocals. ONLY on the high parts other than that piano would add a ton as well with some bass and light drums on second measure continuing through the rest of the song. Enjoyed it friend.

This song has an awesome feel man. Really solid and ominous. I feel like a few more components could really bring out that darker side....(i.e. fiddle, organ, maybe some steel guitar)

Sweet Ballad of Love Lost by Chaser

Helpful

A very tender ballad told in the 3rd person about being lost after losing a special woman, the love of his life. Delivered with passion, this emotionally charged song is performed with just the fine vocals and acoustic guitar of "Chaser". Definitely an up and coming favorite. 55 Stars and two thumbs up! ~LarninCurve~

Cool eclectic tune

This is a good tune. I think you will pull a lot of interest by adding some more instruments to the song. Even if it is something simple. Even if it is considered folk, that still means you can add more to it so that it has an even more unique sound to it. Your guitar riff is good, and it sounds pretty well in time. I look forward to hearing more songs from you. I think the recording is good and that you sound professional with this audio.

Nice work

Foolish Man is a good tune. I too have written songs that "just come to me" so I have a lot of respect for the end product as these are often the most meaningful and powerful songs to come from a songwriter. That is, there's no "over-thinking" involved or any attempt to commercialize into a mainstream structure or format. I see this song as a respectable and solid filler song on an album that engages the listener and allows them to take a glimpse into the soul of the artist.

Song with nice melody

The song has a nice melody. The lyrics are good and I think with a little polishing, it could be a great song, most profitable in the right market(s).

Hauntingly Beautiful Chords

Helpful

I think this has very hauntingly beautiful chords and progression. I love the lyric and I get the vocal ideas and where they wan to go. With the right production, yes this could be a powerful piece. I'm not sure about a top 10 type song but it could be at least a good album track if you were pitching it. Hard to say, but you never know what the right production could do. Even possibly a duet could potentially work. Pretty nice underlying work as always.

A Pretty Song

Helpful

Foolish Man by Chaser starts out with very nicely played guitar. The lyric is a heartfelt plea for a lover lost. The melody fits well with the accompanying guitar. I would have liked to hear a bit more differing sounding chorus, as they didn't seem clearly defined. Maybe a harmony would give it a lift. All in all, another fine effort from Chaser....best of luck! DW

"Foolish Man" is a Wonderful Song

Helpful

I was drawn to the song right away by the guitar work. I love the chord progressions and mellow acoustic. For writing it in 10 minutes…the song is very well written and flows very well. The Lyrics are meaningful and touched on what many feel. I remind me a bit of the mid-60’s and 70’s when people just sat and listened to troubadour folk singers in the local coffee house. You have a cool knack for words and phases and how they interact with each other. Peace to you!

First of all I will give a few words about first reactions to hearing a song then delve into some areas that I think can stand a little discussion about tweaks. After listening the first time I was drawn to the song by it's chord structure and melody. I had some difficult with the lyrics because the delivery and diction wasn't always clear notwithstanding that however, I was still pulled into the song simply because of the sound. My impression is that the song will be better presented by building the music accompaniment. It is okay to start out light but the melody alone begs for a strong build to capture the emotion of where I think the lyrics are going. It can finish quiet as well to leave the listener wanting to hear it again, I hear orchestra strings all over this one. I wish there was a way for writers to add the lyrics to the request for review because in this instance the lyrics need to match the emotion of the melody and I just didn't get to hear all of them. I feel your closeness to this one. It comes through. Good Job.

Good tempo, good lyrics. This is a good "sit on the stool in a plaid shirt and ball cap" kind of song as it is. Were I to put it on the radio or in a stage show, it would be with a full band and a progressive tempo. I listened all the way through the first time because I wanted to hear the whole story but I probably would not listen to it again all the way through. It didnt evoke any kind of feelings. Good bones.
